"Morpheus is fighting Neo," Mouse ran in sounding excited.

"How did I beat you?" Morpheus was saying.

     "You're too fast," Neo complained.
"Do you believe that my being stronger or faster has anything to do with my muscles in this place? You think that's air you're breathing now?... Again," Morpheus lectured before they started fighting again.

"Jesus Christ, he's fast. Take a look at his neural-kinetics, they're way above normal," Mouse observed, really into this.

"What are you waiting for? You're faster than this. Don't think you are, know you are.... Come on. Stop trying to hit me and hit me," Morpheus lectured again.

"I don't believe it," Mouse, again, said excitedly.

"I know what you're trying to do," Neo attempted.

"I'm trying to free your mind, Neo, but I can only show you the door, you're the one that has to walk through it. Tank, load the jump program.... You have to let it all go, Neo, fear, doubt, and disbelief. Free your mind," Morpheus stated before he jumped to the building across.

"Whoa. Okie dokie. Free my mind," Neo told himself.

"So what if he makes it?" Mouse wondered.

"No one's ever made the first jump," Apoc reasoned.

"I know, I know. But what if he does?" Mouse insisted.

     "He won't," Switch stated bluntly.

"Come on," Mouse egged, although Neo couldn't hear him.

     "Come on," Trinity hoped.

"All right, no problem. Free my mind. Free my mind. All right," Neo breathed. He ran, jumped... then fell on his face. (that wasn't so disappointing)[lolz everywhere]

"Wha ...what does that mean?" Mouse asked in disbelief.

"It doesn't mean anything," Switch said dismissively.

"Everybody falls the first time. Right, Trin?" Cypher teased. Trinity is not amused. So she left.

"I thought it wasn't real," Neo stated when he got back to the Neb.

"Your mind makes it real," Morpheus explained.

"If you're killed in the Matrix, you die here?" Neo guessed.

"Your body cannot live without the mind," Morpheus reasoned.

"Not bad, for a rookie," Amy smirked to Neo on her way back to her desk. Amy sat down and was about to resume what she was doing before, but then she realized something. Amy was considerably fond of Mouse's childish and enthusiastic attitude. It made the place actually seem friendly. And it helped to balance out how harsh Amy herself was.

*He's rather adorable in some ways,* Amy thought with a small smile.
