(Tribute to the song by Demi Lovato, and the covers by Terabrite and Madilyn Bailey)

Amy and Mouse appeared in New York.

"Holy shit," Amy gasped. "I haven't been here in so long. Nice job, Mouse."

     "T-thanks..." Mouse blushed.

The city lights reflected off of Amy's eyes, making her an even prettier sight to look at, according to Mouse. A small smile found its way onto his face.

     "You okay?" Amy wondered curiously.

"I'm fine," Mouse smiled still. He stared right at Amy, a relaxed look on his face. For some reason, he wasn't flustered like before.

Amy, on the other hand, was unbelievably happy; for a reason that she wasn't sure. But Amy knew that she had never been nearly as happy as this. Mouse brought out a side of her that she didn't realize that she had.

For a moment when they walked, their hands brushed against the other's. They both blushed and looked away.
But you make me wanna act like a girlPaint my nails and wear high heelsYes, you make me so nervousAnd I just can't hold your handYou make me glow, but I cover upWon't let it show, so I'm...Puttin' my defences up'Cause I don't wanna fall in loveIf I ever did thatI think I'd have a heart attack

"So, why did you ask me, of all people, to go with you?" Amy wondered after an awkward silence.

"Well, you're the person closest to my age. So I thought that we could communicate with each other better than they could. Besides, you can use a friend in a place like the Neb," Mouse explained.

     "And the world," Amy added.

"The world is ugly, but you're beautiful to me," Mouse realized.

"You listen to My Chemical Romance?" Amy asked eagerly.

"Yeah," Mouse answered her, then changing the subject, "Um, were you crying before I went to talk to you back home?"

"N-no," Amy lied, looking away. But Mouse still stared at her, seeing through the lie.

"Amy, it's okay to tell me," Mouse offered.

They walked into a park, where Amy sat against a tree and hid her face in her knees. Mouse sat next to her and tried to talk to her.

"Amy? What's wrong?" Mouse asked quietly. Amy thought that the tone of his voice was just adorable, and she felt she had no choice but to answer.

"The Neb's what's wrong," she began. "It's like what I told Neo, everyone hates me. 'specially Switch and Apoc."

"Hey, that's not true. Not everyone hates you. I don't," Mouse protested.

"What do you know about me that makes you so sure that they're wrong?" Amy tested.

"Nothing. I don't need to know much to know that there's nothing wrong with you," Mouse answered.

"Oh, so there's something wrong with me?" Amy asked with a hint of a grin.

"Eh, they just can't handle teenagers," Mouse concluded.

"Definitely," Amy agreed looking up at the stars.

A smile found it's way onto Amy's face. After hearing what Mouse said, Amy was too happy to feel sad for anything.

"So, how are we supposed to get back?" Amy asked, looking at Mouse.

      "Y'know, about that..." Mouse began.

"Please tell me you know how to go home," Amy said with a worried tone and expression.

"Don't worry. I know what I'm doing," he reassured her, although Amy still looked rather nervous.

"What? Don't trust me?" Mouse teased.

      "Oh, no, it's not that-"

"Then relax," he instructed. Amy laughed nervously, to which Mouse smiled. "Really, I know how to get back. That's what the cell phone's for."

"You know how to use the phone, right?" Amy joked.

"You have no faith in me," he sighed with mock exasperation.

"None," Amy confirmed, trying not to grin. But the smile found its way onto her face anyways.

"You should smile more. It suits you," Mouse complimented sincerely.

"Thanks..." Amy blushed. "It's just... I've never had a reason to. Never really did."

"Just don't say that you never will," Mouse made sure.

      "Why?" Amy asked, confused.

"The world is cruel, but exceptions can be made for you, Amy," Mouse consoled.

"What makes you say that?" Amy inquired.

"It's just, I don't think that you deserve to suffer any more than you already have. Things will get better," Mouse established.

"Wait, how do you know about what I've been through?" Amy interrogated.

"I can see it in your eyes, you're broken inside," Mouse noticed. "But don't let your past hold you back."

"Haha," Amy laughed gently, making Mouse's heart flutter. "Thanks, Mouse. To be honest, I feel a lot better now."

"That's good to hear," Mouse exhaled. The whole conversation with Amy made him so self-conscious and made his heart beat faster than ever.

Upon checking the time, Mouse decided, "We should go home."

"Good point," Amy confirmed, checking the time on her own phone.

They stood up slowly, well, Mouse did. Amy, on the other hand...

"Whoa," she exhaled. Amy was kinda wobbly because she stood up way too fast. Mouse tried to steady her, or else she'd fall.

      "T-thanks," Amy blushed, embarrassed.

"No problem, Amy," Mouse smiled, noticing how adorable she was when she was embarrassed.

Instead of releasing her, Mouse held her hand. Amy looked at Mouse questioningly, regarding their hands.

"We're going home, remember?" Mouse answered her unsaid question.

"Haha... oh, yeah," Amy laughed nervously.

Mouse took out his cell phone and was about to press the button, but before that, he looked at Amy and said, "Things will get better, Amy. Believe me."

      "Thanks, Mouse," she smiled softly.

Then, Mouse pressed the button and they disappeared from Manhattan, New York.
