INTRO - Ice
I brushed the long bang away that usually covered my right eye and tucked it behind my ear as I looked around. My best friend, Moeru Kasai, sighed. "It's really pouring." She muttered as she stood next to me. We had taken shelter on the doorstep of some old mansion a little ways out of town.
"It is." I answered simply. My fingers brushed my ear and, in turn, my earrings. I currently wore two, despite having three piercings on the top of my ear. One I always wore was a white pearl that stayed in the topmost spot. Below it I currently had a cream colored stone shaped like a full moon.
"Oh." I said when I realized I only had two in.
"What's up?" Moeru asked.
"I'm not wearing the storm one." I said simply.
"Put it in now." Moeru shrugged. I set my leather bag onto my black suite case and starting digging around to find my earring pouch. A flash of lightning made me jump and I hurried my search.
The door Moeru and I stood outside of suddenly opened and a girl crashed into Moeru. Being a half foot taller than the girl Moeru didn't do much more than fall back a step. "Whoa there." She said as she steadied the girl.
Her red eyes looked between the two of us in confusion. "Where did you go, pancake?" the door was thrown open and a red haired boy appeared. His green eyes widened at us and for a moment we all stood there in silence with our mouths open.
A flash of lighting broke the soundlessness and I saw a host of them in the room behind the boy. More so than I had ever seen before. "So many." I thought. One of them, one I knew because he'd been following me since childhood, looked at me and pain flared through my head. I cried out and although I heard the boy talking I didn't hear what was said. The world tilted and faded away long before I hit the ground.
