CHAPTER 3 - Fire

Knowing Aisu she'd take a bath so I decided to explore. The storm was still raging outside, making it nearly impossible to see the grounds, but I was fascinated enough by the house itself.

Though my forte was fire, I did know a bit about architecture so the house's old and unique design interested me. Of course, I forgot all about that when I found a large library. After checking to see if anyone would see me go in, I slipped inside.

Some of the books looked old and others looked brand knew. I ran my fingers along the spines as I read the titles. "Wow, a diverse collection. Aisu will be ecstatic. Maybe they even have her father's book." I thought.

"Do you like books?" It was Reiji, who surprised me.

"I like looking at them and occasionally they can be fun to burn. Aisu's the reader." I said.

"Fun to burn?" Reiji asked.

"Oh, I'm a pyro." I answered with a smile.

"Try not to burn down the house." Reiji said simply.

I scoffed. "As if. I don't burn things that aren't mine." I said. "Well, normally." I added silently.

"Alright." He stepped past me and pulled down a couple of books about science.

"You into science?" I asked.

"Yes." He answered sharply.

"No need to bite me." I muttered under my breath at his snappy attitude.

"Oh? Are you volunteering?" He asked. I looked at him and straightened.

"Volunteering for what?" I asked. He set down his books and approached me. I backed up until I hit the bookshelf and he caged me with his arms.

"It's been a little while since I've had a bite to eat." He said.

I tilted my head in confusion. "Um... You ate at dinner." I pointed out. He laughed quietly and took off his glasses, slipping them into a pocket on his jacket.

"Not that kind of food." He said quietly. I was still trying to figure it out when sharp pain came from my neck. I yelped in surprise, trying to shove Reiji away, but he brushed me aside easily.

"No way... They're vampires?!" I thought worriedly. Reiji pulled back and I slid to the ground, my hand on the spot. When I pulled it away there was a little bit of blood on my palm. "You're..." I started to say.

"Vampires? Yes." He put his glasses back on and, after getting his books, left me there.

"Wait, what about Aisu?!" I jumped up, only to have the world spin. I stumbled over to the couch and fell on it. "Okay, the world can stop spinning now." I thought.

My hand went to my pocket and I lit a match. The flickering light darkened the world around it, until all I could see was the flame. "So pretty." I thought.

"Hey! Oi! What are you doing?" A voice drew me back and I blinked. It was Ayato.

"Me? I was watching the fire. What about you?" I asked. I felt back to normal, thanks to the fire. I sat up and blew it out.

"Me? I was going to Yui's room, but got distracted when I saw a fire in the library." He said.

"Well, now you know it's nothing so you can waltz off to Yui's room." I waved him towards the door and he scowled.

"I can what?" He asked.

"You heard." I said.

"Hm... maybe I'd rather waltz with you. Care to dance?" Ayato offered a hand and I raised my eyebrows.

"I didn't mean it literally." I said.

"I did." He yanked me off the couch and started spinning around. I think he was actually dancing, I was stumbling around like a clumsy drunk. "It's to bad Reiji got to you first. The first time is the funnest." He said.

"Why's that?" I asked. He stopped spinning and smiled deviously at me.

"I like the sound." He said.

"What sound?" I asked. He leaned towards me and I tried to back up, but he held me close. "Hey, seriously, what sound?" I asked.

"This one." He put his mouth at my neck and I gulped. He smiled ever so slightly and I felt his hand line my jaw. I fought when he tilted my head, but my body was limp. I couldn't move, I couldn't fight back, and I didn't know why.

"It's more fun when you tell me not to." He sounded almost disappointed, but sank his teeth into my neck. I winced at the pain.

I was about to say 'stop' when I realized that would only egg him on. I let myself relax, ignoring the pain. "Doing that won't help you. I've got you, I'm not going to stop until I've had my fun." Ayato said.

"Fun?" I was worried what that meant.

"For me, but I'm not so sure about you." He whispered in my ear. A chill went down my spine.
