CHAPTER 5 - Fire
My head felt fuzzy when I woke up to sunlight on my face. To add to my confusion someone else was in my bed and it wasn't Aisu. They were to big and Aisu never slept behind me.
"What happened last night?" I wondered. Trying to think just gave me a headache like when I'd tried alcohol and gotten hung over. Actually, I felt a lot like I was hung over. "But I haven't touched alcohol since then..." I thought curiously.
"You awake?" I nearly jumped out of the bed when Ayato leaned over me, a signature smirk on his face.
"What are you doing? Get out!" I shoved him away as I sat up and he got off the bed laughing.
"You were pretty okay with it last night." He said. Suddenly it all came back to me and I blushed bright red. Ayato had the gall to laugh. "You're as red as the fire you love so much." He teased.
"Get out!" I threw my pillow at him and he went towards the door, still laughing.
"I had fun last night. Let's do it again some time." Ayato said with a wink, tossing the pillow back to me before walking out. I hugged it to my chest, my body shaking in anger.
"You sick little..." I muttered to myself. I almost finished it but Aisu stumbled through the door looking like she'd been in a car accident.
"Aisu, are you okay?" I quickly stood, setting the pillow aside, and helped her sit down.
"I feel weak, but I'm okay. And you? Did Ayato hurt you?" She asked.
My hands went to my neck where I could feel both Ayato's and Reiji's bite marks on opposing sides of my neck. "Well, he did but at the same time I let him so..." I let it hang and she nodded.
"Let me guess, you're mad now?" Aisu asked. I nodded and she smiled slightly. "Did you punch him, or just kick him out?" She asked.
"Just kicked him out. Like I said, I let him do it." I shrugged and moaned slightly. My shoulders were very tight.
"Lay down." Aisu said. I laid on my stomach and Aisu's small hands quickly went to work getting out the knots in my back. It felt amazing and I felt my angry dissipate as the knots went away.
"You're way to good at this." I said quietly. Aisu rubbed my back and I sat up after she finished.
"Oh, Moeru, I'm going to see Hoseki today." She informed me.
"Oh? New earrings or...?" I asked.
"Another piercing." She said.
"Seriously?" I sighed. "You realize that that's the last you can do on that ear?" I said.
"I know. But I had to take a bath without the water one and nearly got killed." She said.
"What?" I grabbed her chin and looked at her neck. There were faint bruises like someone had tried to choke her. I also saw a bite mark on her neck. "Ow. Who's bite mark?" I asked as I let go of her chin.
"Oh, Subaru." She touched the mark like she'd forgotten it was there.
"Really? What's he like?" I asked, having not met him yet myself. I grabbed Aisu's arm in my excitement and she flinched. "Are you okay? What happened?" I asked.
She pulled up her sleeve and showed me another bite mark. "It's Laito's." She added. "Watch out for him." She added.
"I will, but are you okay? You look sore." I said.
"Ya, he got me good. Some of the bite marks hurt." She rubbed her side and I pulled up her shirt to reveal a bite mark there too.
"Where else did he bite you?" I asked, suddenly very worried for my friend.
"Here." She touched her inner thigh and I started to get angry.
"Did he only bite you?" I asked, trying to keep my anger contained.
"If he..." I couldn't ever finish it. The thought just made me angrier.
"Licked me after each bite, but otherwise no." Aisu touched my arm. "Calm down, I'm fine." She said, somehow knowing exactly what I was thinking.
"Let me know if he does it again and I'll..." I left the threat hanging and Aisu sighed.
"Just don't get hurt doing it. By the way, you might want to shower. You never took one last night, did you? You must be sticky from the rain." Aisu added.
"True. Okay, tell Hoseki I said hi." I said as I stood. Aisu did the same.
"I'll make sure to pass it along. Are you sure you'll be okay here on your own?" Aisu asked.
"Ya, I'll probably find a fire place and have a little fun." I shrugged and started pulling stuff out of my bag for my shower.
"Watch yourself." Aisu said.
"Same to you. Hoseki's as dangerous as our hosts, if not more so." I warned.
Aisu smiled softly. "As always you distrust him. See you later." She said before walking out.
"I don't distrust him, I hate him. But he's the only person who's been able to help you." I muttered to myself as I got a change of clothes.
The bathroom was open and I made sure to lock the door. I quickly filled up the tub and got undressed. A glance in the mirror revealed several love bites on my collarbone and even one on my stomach. I touched all of them and sighed.
"Ayato, you're a lucky fool that Aisu can cool me off." I thought as I got into the tub. The hot water felt really good and I let my head go under. The heat surrounding me was great, it helped relax all the tension Aisu didn't get.
"I wonder if this is what a fire would feel like? Probably not. Fire likes to bite." I thought. "Wait... bite... Like Ayato? Or Laito? Or one of the others?" The thought made me smile. "I kind of want to find out."
