Adrien was in a blind panic. He rushed to take his phone out of his pocket he threw it across his room. After retrieving his phone and tapping on Marinette's contact to text her, didn't want the chance of his father over hearing him.

Adrien-'We've got a problem'

Marinette-'What is it Lila, do you need me there?'

Adrien-'no worst. I think my father is Hawkmoth.'

Marinette-'WHAT! How do you figure that?'

Adrien-'my father ungrounded me and he said he got what was missing from his vault. Which is the book.'

Marinette-'are you okay?'

Adrien-'honestly no. I won't be able to relax when he can just easily take my ring in my sleep.'

Marinette-'I'm sorry. Do you want me to do something to help you?'

Adrien-'no you don't have to do anything. I'll... figure something out.'

Marinette-'okay but be careful please'

Adrien-'I'll try my Lady 😻'

Adrien was thankful that his father never ate dinner with him. Adrien kept glancing at the direction of his father's office, expecting Hawkmoth to burst on through. He finished up his dinner and said he was gonna stay in his room for the rest of the night. Adrien tried to relax, occuping himself with video games and anime, but to no avail. He even tried taking a herbal bath and tried lying down, but that didn't work. He just stood wide awake for hours, staring at his door. Adrien had to get out of the house, he didn't care if his father saw that he ran away again. He thought about going over to Nino's, he's always said that he could crash there if he ever ran away again. However he didn't want to bring Nino into this, he couldn't know what he found out about his dad. Adrien's thoughts then went to Marinette, she knew his situation and would be understanding, but it would be weird having a boy stay in her room without her parents knowing. Adrien weighted his options and decided he'd go text Marinette before making a decision.

Adrien-'hey you still up?'

Marinette-'yeah what's up?'

Adrien-'can't sleep. I'm too worried that he'll come in a take my ring.'

Marinette-'are you sure you don't want me to watch you while you sleep? Not in a stalker way of course but just in case your father shows up!'

Good old Marinette, always bringing a smile to his face.

Adrien-'lol but no it's okay. Well...'

Marinette-'what?'

Adrien-'Actually I was wondering if I could hideout in your room for the night. Ik it's weird with me being a boy in your room without your parents knowing but I don't have anywhere I can go without making the situation unexplainable.'

It took Marinette awhile to respond, the ellipses bounced several times making Adrien anxious.

Marinette-'okay you can come over. But you'll have to be out before my parents get up at 5'
