Miraculous Ladybug: Volpina's Return

His Princess and his Ladybug

Marinette had returned home and released her transformation. Spinning around and squealing so incredibly hard. She had to lie down and hug her pillows to calm herself down. She just kissed Adrien Agreste, for the second time! Oh Marinette could explode and die of happiness, and she would be content.

"Tikki, thank you so much for letting me go see him. You have no idea how much it means to me." Tikki nodded and hugged the teen's cheek. It wasn't uncommon in the past for Tikki to do this sort of thing. It's never ended horribly but Tikki always favored caution in doing so.

Clouds started forming across the sky, blocking out the sun. Marinette looked over at her clock and it read "1:32"school was about to start back up in three minutes. Marinette had to rush downstairs, grabbing a small container of cookies for Tikki, and quickly yelled goodbye to her parents. She barely made it back to her class on time, and took her seat. It wasn't until about halfway through the class period that she noticed that Lila wasn't there. It was a little strange, Lila was many things but definitely not someone who ditch class. Marinette honestly didn't think about it long enough as her mind replayed her last moments with Adrien. She was so distracted almost nothing broke her attention, not the teacher, not Alya, not even Adrien. But when a familiar orange clad villain came bursting through the window, Marinette was taken right out of her fantasy and right into the hands of Volpina.

Alya and Adrien both ran out of the school, Alya dialed 112 and pulled out her phone to record the action scene unfold. Adrien ran the opposite way, behind the school, to transform.

"Plagg, we got to help Marinette. I'll text Ladybug!" Adrien did so as quickly as his thumbs could. Satisfied with the text he put it away and threw his fist into the air. "Claws Out!" An expression of determination was spread across his face as he transformed. Nothing was going to stop him from saving Marinette. Extending his staff he leaped through the air, spinning it as to ease his descent. It didn't take long before he found them on top of the Eiffel Tower.

Marinette didn't appear scared, in fact she looked just as determined as Chat was. He wasn't sure at first of who took Marinette, he heard Alya screamed and got a glimpse of a blur of orange. But it was without a doubt Volpina. "Well, well long time no see Volpina." She looked like she was about to say something but Chat cut her off. "Sorry as much as I would love to catch up with you, but I got a princess to save." He leapt up on the building, daring to not use his baton in fear of hitting Marinette, he simply ran up to them and tried to grab her, but he couldn't. By the time he got up on the roof there where dozens of copies of Marinette and Volpina. Chat started to turn the fakes into orange poofs, but it made it harder to search for them. Out of nowhere he received a sharp pain in his back as Volpina's flute jabbed him on his spine. Chat rolled on the platform and didn't get up for awhile.

He could see that Marinette had her eyes wide in fear and shock, a look of disappointment almost, although he didn't understand why she was disappointed. Her mouth was covered and her arms were trying to get Volpina's hands off her. Chat found it within himself to get up. He couldn't bare the sight of Marinette being a prisoner like this. He had to get her to safety. Chat started to charge at Volpina, staff in hand. Volpina had knocked Marinette down to the ground before charging at Chat with her flute. Thanks to his lessons, Chat was able to parry any of her advances with ease, but his eyes never left Marinette. She seemed okay, she only fell on her butt, something she did frequently but she didn't seem hurt otherwise. However Chat couldn't get close to her to be able to take her away from the battle.

Chat thought to himself and wondered where Ladybug was. He sent her a text and she was never known for being late, in fact she came in the nick of time always. But how could she not be here by now? He took another look at Marinette and she had her hand settled on her bag. However her bag had moved; like something was inside it. Marinette was biting her lower lip, as if she was trying to make a difficult decision. But for Chat, the final pieces started to go together. Marinette is Ladybug. That's why she isn't there right now, she can't transform without them both seeing her become Ladybug. Chat was happy that he finally figured out who his Lady was, and he was really happy it was Marinette.But he couldn't think about it now, he had to get her out of here so she can transform. He retreated to get some distance and vaulted over Volpina and was able to retrieve Marinette and take her away. He took her to an alleyway and took off her restrictions. "You got everything you need my Lady?" Marinette looked down and saw her small little bag still around her.
