After lunch, I always carried the thought of (Y/N) being my daughter. I know she isn't my biological one but somewhere in me says she is. I love Stephanie, I really do. But she looks a lot older, I expected her to be young like (Y/N). And Stephanie doesn't really look like us, so it sometimes makes me doubt about her.
I remember that day, like if it was yesterday. My parents kicked me out, once they found out I was pregnant. I was on my own in Mexico City. I had to tell Ruben (my husband) that I was carrying his child. I was afraid he will reject me like my parents did. Ruben was in college studying business and I was finishing high school. By now I was already standing in front of his. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. After waiting a while, Ruben appear behind the door, with a smile. His smile instantly faded away when he saw me bawling.
Ruben:"What's wrong, Cece?" he grabbed my hands, with a worried expression on his face.
I couldn't find my voice, I was struggling to find the right words so I wouldn't messed up this serious situation.
Ruben:"Amor" (love) he cupped my cheeks with his hands.
By the tone of his voice, caused me to glanced at him.
Cecilia:"Ruben...p-promise you won't leave, a-after I t-tell you this.." a tear slowly ran down my cheek.
Ruben:"I will never leave you, you're the love of my life. How could I?" he spoke softly.
My heart beated so quick, like the first day I met him. A smile sneaked in and I couldn't help hiding it. I took a deep breath and regained some confidence.
Cecilia:"The thing is..." I looked down at my feet, then met his greenish-gray crystal eyes.
Cecilia:"Im...I-I'm pregnant..." I spoke as my voice cracked.
Then his reaction was something I didn't expect.
Ruben:"Pregnant?" he said confused.
I was about to speak but he interrupted me by yelling.
Ruben:"Are you serious?! Pregnant? Th-this is the best day of my life!" he kissed me.
A wave of relief washed me over. It made me happy seeing him excited for the baby. Especially in a time where it's hard to raised a child.
Ruben:"I have to tell my parents!" I stopped him before he took off.
Cecilia:"But what if they get mad?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
