Hello my goslings! I decided to do my author's note at the beginning because nobody reads them anyways and I'm sparing you from reading this at the end. So, thanks for 65! here's a particularly longISH chapter.
----------------------------------
"TEN MINUTES?! HOW CAN I DO THIS IN TEN MINUTES?!"
I was in total panic mode, thankfully, Skylar came to my rescue.

"Carters, chill, panicking just gives you less time to work with, there is a suit in the closet, If you need help the bellboy is here to assist you, see ya in five."

With that said she left the bathroom and into the maze of hallways.
Wasting no time, I rushed to my bed and scooped up the suit she had mentioned, and took off into the bathroom to change, having some experience with suits due to the funeral, I was done in no less than five minutes and combing my dirty blonde hair to perfection. Then a ruffled man rushed in and did something to my face, me -who was in shock- sat dazed on a stool that he had brought in. When I looked in the mirror again, I hardly recognized myself, seeing Skylar in the reflection, I turned around.

Seeing her stripped the breath out of my lungs.

She
Looked
So
So
So
So
So
So
So
So
Shocking.
It took every ounce of resistance in my entire being to hold back from drooling.
She must have noticed I was ogling at her because she immediately looked down at the floor, pink spreading across her cheeks.

"You look good in a suit." She complimented.
I, being oh so polite, continued to stare. This turned her cheeks even brighter.

(A/n okay enough suspension WHATS SHE WEARING?!)

She was in a deep scarlet dress, hugging her waist and setting off her curves, that opened up in a circle a little below her neck and continued around up to make a choker on her neck. There was semi see-through fabric connected to her hips and her wrists, making a webbed effect when she held her arms out. The fabric seemed to glitter slightly, the blood red colour setting off her blue eyes. Her hair flowed loosely around her shoulders, ending below her breast, and had white and purple flowers embedded in it, she had golden bracelets above her wrists and a matching anklet on her left leg. The bottom of the dress curved to the right in a sweeping motion, hiding most of her right leg, but allowing her left to be more visible.
Everything about her was perfect. From the sapphire earrings to her black heels.

Why was I her mate and not some boy model?

She must have seen the doubt on my face, because she gave me a concerned look.

"Is everything okay? Do you want me to change dresses? If this one makes you uncomfortable-"
I cut her off
"It's perfect." I breathed.

"Just like you."

My last comment made her blush like mad.

The bellboy cleared his throat and his eyes trailed to the clock on the wall.

Thirty seconds.
We looked at each other in surprise.
29
We made a mad dash for the door, nearly running over the poor bellboy.
28
Sprinting down the hallway.
27
Following her through the maze.
26
Skidding around the corner.
25
Both running towards the dining hall.
24
Skylar in the lead.
23
Me close at her heels.
22
Tripping over a toy left in the hall.
21
Flailing to catch myself.
20
Skylar keeps running.
19
Getting up to follow.
18
At the corner of the hall.
17
Which way?
16
One longer than the other, taking the shorter.
15
Hearing heels on the floor.
14
Catching up.
13
Bright red and golden doors.
12
Struggling to pull them open.
11
The door creaks open.
10
We both slip in.
9
We choose a seat and dive into it.
8
Fixing out hair.
7
Brushing off our clothes.
6
Another door begins to open.
5
Catching our breath.
4
The door creaks open wide
3
Parents walk in.
2
Royalty follows last.
1
Everyone is seated.
0
We're all here.

The only people in the room were the Royals, their children,
and Skylar's parents, bubbling with excitement.
Skylar rolled her eyes at them and shot me an apologetic glance. I returned it with what I thought was a warm smile, making her laugh at my silly face.
That laugh was the last thing I heard before the chatting died down and the room fell

"So this is the famous Ryan Carters we've heard so much about?" The king said after a long pause.

I was unsure wether he was disappointed or pleased, his face showed no emotion.

Skylar came to my rescue again and began to introduce everyone to me, considering the majority of them were

"This is King Theodore and his mate Rosalie, Queen of the vampires, this,"

She said, gesturing away from the emotionless Royals and to the ecstatic couple,

"Is my mother and father, Hunter and Jayla Brooklyn." She continued.

"And these two,"

She directed her attention to two young children, likely thirteen and twelve.

"Are Prince Zane and Princess Gwendolyn." She finished, beaming with pride at her younger cousins.

King Theodore cleared his throat and waited for silence.

"As you know I am the King of the vampires, and as I know, you are the mate of our little Sky, am I correct?"

His voice was deep and he radiated authority, I couldn't help but feel small in his presence. I could clearly tell that he was destined to be the King for a long time.

Everyone was looking at me now. I looked at Skylar and she gave me a nearly imperceptible nod.

"Y-yes I am." I replied shakily.

"Your highness." I finished, with a little less stutter this time.

Theodore tipped back his head and let out a roaring laugh, making me feel a little uncomfortable.

"I like him Sky, you can keep him." He said, breaking into a smile that made him look like a warm and loving father.

"Thank you." I said quietly.

The cooking team chose that moment to burst into the room through a pair of professional looking side doors with silver platters and carts laden with food. The spun around, clearly making an effort to impress the King with their balance and coordination, laying food before us and on the table, pouring wine and juice into our glasses.

They were only in the room for a matter of seconds before they all whirled back into the kitchen.

I must have looked shaken at the abruptness of the food arriving because Skylar reached under the table and squeezed my hand a little, a symbol that it was okay.

I took a few seconds to calm myself and I looked over to the Prince, only to see him savagely tearing into a particularly strong piece of steak, Gwendolyn gave her food one famished look before pushing it away and staring at a salad across the table.

Theodore looked at his wife with clear surprise on his face, she was attacking her steak with her fork and knife, growling with frustration when it wouldn't make a dent in the meaty surface.

Skylar took her sweet old time, sawing off smaller chunks and pushing them into a neat pile.

I copied Skylar's approach, seeing as it was the most successful of the strategies.

Theodore then took his knife and stabbed the entire slice of steak on his plate and stuffed it down his throat, nit chewing once.

My face turned white and I began quietly nibbling on a piece of steak.
