Gifted.
If I had a nickel
for every time
I've heard that word,
maybe then I wouldn't
be disgusted by it.
Gifted.
A word used
to make the average feel dumb
and the dumb feel clueless.
Gifted.
A word used
to make the 'smart'
feel smarter,
and the smarter
conceited.
Gifted.
Only used in the context
of academic superiority.
Only used to describe
students who get
too many 100s
on the tops of their papers.
Gifted.
A degrading word
for those who don't
fit under that category,
and an embarrassing word
for the kind souls
that are supposedly 'gifted'.
I'm not gifted, I'm just good at school the same way you're good at drawing.
