It all makes sense now,
you were a storm.
You were a storm
that I was not ready for.
I saw you in the distance,
and, intrigued by your ways,
couldn't help but get closer.
I stood amongst the many people
that couldn't resist you, either,
staring up at the clouds that were you.
But I thought I was different
than everybody else.
So I got closer to you.
I ran to the top of skyscrapers,
because you let me.
Drenched and exhausted,
I reached up towards you from the
highest building I could find.
I was so close...
and then, BAM!
you struck down your
lightning bolt of cold, hard truth.
I can still faintly remember,
the storm fading away,
dissipating into a few calm clouds.
And I watched you happily drift away.
Why, you human storm, why did you leave me?
You were all I had left.
We've finally reached fifty poems in this book, yay!! *Cue the happy little fireworks.* I just want to thank CNS2004 for always supporting me and complimenting my poems each and every day. If it wasn't for you, girlie, I probably wouldn't have gotten this far. Stay beautiful!
