It all makes sense now,
you were a storm.You were a storm
that I was not ready for.I saw you in the distance,
and, intrigued by your ways,
couldn't help but get closer.I stood amongst the many people
that couldn't resist you, either,
staring up at the clouds that were you.But I thought I was different
than everybody else.
So I got closer to you.
I ran to the top of skyscrapers,
because you let me.Drenched and exhausted,
I reached up towards you from the
highest building I could find.I was so close...
and then, BAM!
you struck down your
lightning bolt of cold, hard truth.I can still faintly remember,
the storm fading away,
dissipating into a few calm clouds. And I watched you happily drift away.
Why, you human storm, why did you leave me?
You were all I had left.
We've finally reached fifty poems in this book, yay!! *Cue the happy little fireworks.* I just want to thank CNS2004 for always supporting me and complimenting my poems each and every day. If it wasn't for you, girlie, I probably wouldn't have gotten this far. Stay beautiful!
