Well, the day after the dance. Let me know how you thought the song that I choose and what you guys will think what will happen between Joey and Jace?
Joey walked into the studio at 10 a.m. the next morning. She yawned; she was up late last night talking to her friends and family.
How they all saw their dance and her on the show. How amazing she was. That this was finally her big break. Honestly, Joey was still caught up in the moment last night; she could barely keep up with their constant talking.
Joey thought back to what Jace and her did in their "moment" as people would call it. She tried to brush it off, but it still haunted her mind. She pondered it. She figured that it meant nothing. That it was adrenaline after their dance.
"Hey, Joey." Jace said coming over to great her.
"Morning." Joey yawned again. He looked her up and down.
"What?" Joey said knitting her eyebrows together.
"Why are you dressed like that?" He said raising his eyebrow at her while looking her up and down again.
Joey looked down at her. She was wearing navy blue, sea green, and white plaid shirt with a blank tank top, leaving the buttons undone. Black leggings and black converse. She had her hair up in a high ponytail.
"What's wrong with it?" She said raising her eyebrow at him.
"Well, you look like you're from, um, uh..." He said stuttering.
"Like from Seattle? Like I am a Seattleite? Because I am from there and I am one."
"Well, the thing is that people from Los Angeles don't dress like this. And most definitely in this much plaid." He said feeling her shirt.
"Well, when do you wear plaid?"
"When we go to Seattle." He said serious and then he grinned when she playfully hit him.
"All right, what do you suppose I do? This is all I have in my apartment."
"We need to get you new clothes and stat."
"What, I can't do that. First I don't have enough money to redo my wardrobe. And, second, we have to practice."
"Well, I can handle both of those things. Do you think that you, Ms. Joey Stark, could play hooky for a day?"
"Jace, we have to practice for next week's dance, though."
"But, we just danced last night. And this is a crisis. I'm not going to let people see me with you while your wearing that." He pointed her up and down.
Joey rolled her eyes, "Thanks, but won't they notice that were gone?"
"Relax, I can just have Grant cover for us. Now come on, lets go in my car." He said dragging her by the hand.
He led her outside to his black Mercedes CL convertible. Joey was in awe. She was never big on cars and their names like the General and her brothers, but she knew a nice car when she saw one.
"You like it? You should see my black Yamaha FJR1300A motorcycle. It runs like a dream." He said grinning.
"I bet." She said in awe.
"I will have take you on a ride on it some time." He said looking down at the car.
"Yeah." She breathed as she was still admiring the car.
"Well, lets go. He jumped into the car and started it. It started with a purr. It was amazing. She knew anyone of her brother or the General would kill for a car like this. They drove off with the top down. Jace put on "Pompeii", by Bastille and "Don't You Worry Child", by Swedish House Mafia. They both sang along to the latter.
Joey felt free with the top down. She felt alive. With the wind in her face, she took out her hair of her ponytail. Jace saw the whole thing and smiled. He liked her like this.
Jace picked up his phone and made a call. He looked over at her and then started to speak in French. She could pick up some of the words.
"So, you speak, French?"
"Yep, I have been learning it since I was little."
"Oh, I bet that gets all the girls." Joey said laughing sarcastically.
"You wouldn't think, but it does. Do you speak French?"
"No, my brother, Gunnar, does though."
"So, I guess I won't be swooned by your French." Joey said laughing.
"Dang it." Jace said grinning at her. Joey threw head back and started laughing. Jace looked her and smiled. He liked it when she was like this, she seemed so relaxed, rather than acting so stubborn and not fun. But, when she was like this, she was playful, he thought to himself.
