Joey woke up bright and early on Saturday to find Jace calling her. And while, usually that would just irritate her to no end, today was a different story. Jace was finally going to share his life with her, something that she had been waiting for a long time.
"Hey, you up?" Jace said coolly.
"Yeah, when will you be here?" Jace laughed at the impatience in her voice.
"I will be there in fifteen. Don't worry, you will get to see me soon, sweetheart." Jace said with a smirk.
"Yeah, yeah. Just knock when you get here." Joey said rolling her eyes.
"Will do, ma'am." Jace said grinning. He hung up the phone and kept driving to Joey's apartment.
It was a beautiful day in LA. It was in the low eighties and there was not a cloud in the sky. Jace was driving his top down Mercedes. Jace loved this kind of weather. He loved the wind in his blond hair while driving. It made him feel free. He loved living in California. He missed home, a lot sometimes. But, he wouldn't trade living in LA and Riverside for anything.
Jace pulled up to Joey's apartment not much longer after getting off the phone with her. He had breakfast for them in the passenger seat, her favorite coffee with a blueberry scone. Jace checked himself in the mirror in his car. He was wearing his famous black aviator sunglasses with a basic white V-neck t-shirt with ripped jeans and his black high top converses. He went up and knocked on her door. Joey opened it a few moments later. When he saw her, he was shocked. Joey was wearing a loose flattering white V-neck t-shirt with blue jean short shorts with black Converses. She had her hair down and wavy, like she slept with her hair in a braid. Jace found her to look relaxing and extremely cute. "What? Why are you staring at me like that?"
"Can't I just admire my extremely attractive friend?"
"Wait, what?" Joey said flustered.
"Yeah, I can see that the clothes that I got you were put to good use." Jace said grinning.
"Oh hush." Joey said blushing.
Jace leaned in. Joey froze. Jace kissed her cheek and while lingering his on her cheek. "You do look amazing." He said.
Joey was blushing even harder. Jace thought that she looked extremely cute when Joey blushes. Jace chuckled and shook his head. He grabbed her hand and led her to the car.
"So, where are we going today?"
"That, my wavy friend," Jace said as he picked up a curl in her hair and played with it, "is a mystery that you are about to find out." Jace said grinning as he put his sunglasses back on.
They drove for a while. Joey was starting to fall asleep before she saw the boutique that she and Jace went to. After another five miles she saw a sign, "You are now entering Riverside".
"Riverside? What's in Riverside?"
"You will see." Jace looked over at her and grinned.
They kept driving for a while until they both pulled up onto a little driveway. Joey got out of the car and looked around her, she was taken back by her surroundings. This was the part of California that she had never been to. She looked around and saw how beautiful it was. She could see the mountains in the far off distance. There were grass and trees all around her. And she could distinctly smell the faint scent of wine.
