Deanna POV-

I tried to resist sending Shep a text but I couldn't. I really wanted to spend time with him before the game and before he had to go back to Jersey. There is no telling, when I'd see him again.

On top of that, this is all stupid.

I sent the text.

This is stupid Sterling. You don't tell me about everybody you date.

I waited to see if he'd respond. He didn't. It was super late. We had dinner and then O surprising Kenya, which Shep was supposed to come but didn't.

🙄

Whatever. I put my phone on my charger, cut off my light and laid down.

My phone vibrated.

I got it.

But I don't lie either.

Is he serious? 🙄🙄

Okay Shep, I lied. I'm sorry okay. But only about going with PJ. We weren't in love and we didn't have sex.

Another ten minutes went by. I was about to go to sleep and forget him.

You could've said that when I asked about him.

This boy. 🙄🙄

Shep I didn't ok. I lied. I lied. I admit it. But it's stupid to come all this way to see me and then not do it.

Another ten minutes went by.

I'm in Louisiana to work.

He's gonna make me kill him. 🙄🙄

Whatever Shep. I wish you luck with your game. Cause I'm going to do you, just how you did me.

He responded:

✌🏿️

I just could not understand for the life of me, how someone who didn't want to be with me, cared so much about my past, that included absolutely no sex. Yet, he had not a past, but a present full of living like a hoe.

Whatever. It was 3 in the morning and I was going to sleep.

As soon as I was going to sleep, I heard what sounded to be a tap on my window.

I ignored it. Then I heard it again. I looked and saw Shep in the tree that was in front of my window.

Is he serious?

I rolled my eyes and opened the window.

He reached for my hand and I helped him. He plopped loudly on the floor.

🙄

"I ain't came through a girl window since high school." He whispered as he got up and brushed himself off.

"What are you doing here?" I whispered.

"Deanna." My father knocked on my door, then opened it.

Luckily just before he did, Shep ducked under the bed. Good thing it was dark too.

"What was that?" He asked me.

The light from the hallway coming in.

"Oh, I was getting up to go to bathroom and tripped over my shoe."

"You okay?"

"Mm-hm." I smiled.

"Okay." He said. "Goodnight."
