Chapter 7: Friends?

Lucy's P.O.V.

Natsu and I walked to Geography together. We were only fifteen minutes late. Natsu opened the door and the whole class looked at us. Mr. Justine seemed to understand what happened, because he saw my bruises and nodded towards our seats.

Once we both sat down, the lesson continued and Natsu got out a piece of paper and a pencil. I saw him write something and then he handed it to me. I opened it and read it. Hey, you sure you're ok? I looked up and nodded at him. Then he grabbed another piece of paper and wrote something else and handed it to me.

What's your favorite subject? I like art the best. I looked up at him and grabbed my pencil. Art. I handed him the paper. He looked at it and smiled. Sport? He asked. Softball. I answered and handed it to him. He drew a picture of a basketball and showed me. I smiled.

He smiled back. Mr. Justine looked at us. "Dragneel, Heartfilia. Stay after class." he said as the bell rang. We both gathered our stuff and walked up to him. "Why were you passing notes?" he asked. Natsu handed him the note sheet, and he read it. "Ah, so tell me what happened that made you late." he said, and we told him everything that happened.

We made it to art just in time and walked to our seats. We both brought out our sketchbooks and pencils since we were the only ones without them out. When the bell rang, Mrs. Justine told us to sketch our favorite element. We were allowed to talk while drawing and our whole table talked and talked. After we were done coloring and sketching we showed each other.

Natsu drew a dragon breathing fire. Levy drew a library under the ocean. Erza drew a sword in a tree. And I drew wind circling around the Zodiac signs. After the bell rang, we all went to our lockers. Turns out Natsu's locker was right next to mine.

We talked as we walked to the cafeteria. "Wanna be friends?" Natsu asked. I smiled and nodded. He grinned as we walked into the cafeteria. We saw Erza and Levy at the table. With Lisanna. I rolled my eyes. Natsu sighed once he saw Lisanna. "I have to do something, I'll be right back." he said. I nodded and he walked over to Lisanna and pulled her into the hall.

Natsu's P.O.V.

I pulled Lisanna into the hall and she smiled at me. "Don't worry, I'll get rid of Heartfilia for you!" she said as she hugged me. I pulled her off of me. "Natsu?" she asked. I looked her straight in the eyes. "I thought you were nice. I never thought you would bully someone, especially a new student. She didn't choose to do karaoke with me, she just wanted to sing. I can't blame her, singing is fun." I said, anger in my voice.

"Natsu, I just got jealous." Lisanna replied. "That doesn't mean you have to bully someone. That sculpture you almost threw. That could have important value." I replied. "I'm sorry Natsu." Lisanna apologized. I ignored it. "This isn't going to work." I said. "W-What isn't going to work?" Lisanna asked, tears in her eyes. "Us. I can't do it anymore. I can't love someone that bullies people." I replied. "I-I respect your decision." she said as tears streamed down her face and she ran away.

I walked back into the cafeteria and sat with everyone. "What happened Natsu?" Levy asked. "I broke up with her." I answered as if it were nothing. Everyone gasped. "Why?" they all asked at the same time. "She's a bully. I can't love someone that hurts people." I replied. "Who'd she bully?" Erza asked. Lucy was looking down.

I wouldn't say without her permission. "Luce, can I tell them?" I whispered so no one else can hear. She nodded. "Lucy." I replied. Levy and Erza's eyes widened. "What?!" they both exclaimed. And I told them the whole story. "That son of a butternut squash!" Levy yelled. I smirked at her reaction.
