JADES POV
I slowly opened my eyes and I'm met with bright white walls surrounding me. My eyes continue to wonder around the room until I take in the sight of IVs poked securely in my veins throughout each sides of my arms and my eyes instantly widen. I hear the fast beeping of the monitor next to me as my heart rate rapidly begins to pick up speed.
In the corner of my eyes I notice a figure. I bring my hand up to rub my blurry vision and once its clear I sigh in relief when I notice it's my bestfriend Dylan. His hands are in his head as he slowly looks up, his expression turning from normal to shocked. He quickly stands up.
"Doctor! Doctor!" He yells and I flinch.
The doctor rushes in seconds later looking at me with he same expression as Dylan.
What the fuck is there problem ?
"Whats going on?!" I mumble.
The doctor approaches my bed slowly, his look more stern.
"Hell Jade my name is Dr. Sanchez. Do you know why you are here?" he says
Obviously not you dumb ass.
"No" I say ignoring my conscious rude comments
I scan Dylan's face worriedly looking for answers.
"Dylan?..."
DYLANS POV
When speaks my name I feel as if my prayers have been answered when I hear her voice again.She intently looked at me knowing Id be the one to answer her. I open my mouth ready to speak when the doctor interrupts me.
"Jade what is the last thing you remember?" he asks.
She pauses for a minute thinking of her last memory.
" I remember dylan dropping me off at my house after we went ice skating?" She says raising an eyebrow at me as if asking if she is right.
"Oh Jade." I think internally sighing.
The doctor opens his mouth to start to speak again but it's my turn to interrupt him.
"Can I speak to her alone?" I ask. He gives me a questioning look.
"Mr. O'brien, I don't think thats a good idea, you know I need to follow protocol."
"Just give me ten minutes, believe me Doc she's going to want to hear this from someone she trusts." i say, hoping my words are true.
He gives me an annoyed look but agrees and walks out to assist his other patients and call Jade's parents.
I walk slowly to the side of Jades bed an hesitantly take her hand in mine. Im happy when she doesn't deny it or move her hand away from mine.
"Jade." I start.
"The last time we went to the Ico-Plex to skate, it was December of 2013."
"Okay? So... I skipped New Years?"
"Um- well kinda."
"Dylan." she says impatiently.
"Okay, Jade." I start again removing my hands from hers and standing up.
"Its- its 2014, Its December 2014." I finally say letting out a breathe I sure as hell knew I was holding for too long.
"Wait, December? " She says in disbelief.
"Have I been her that long?!" She speaks sounding more panicked.
"No no no" I say assuringly.
"Are you sure you don't remember anything?" I ask again even though she's probably annoyed by that question already.
"No!" She says harshly.
She doesn't remember. She really doesn't remember. Not a damn thing that has happen this past year she knows about.
"How long have I been here?"she mumbles not able to tear me away from my thoughts.
I start to think of what happen between me and her, on that horrible day when I screwed up everything. She doesn't even remember that. I know starting with a clean slate should be enough for me, but my selfishness moves in too quickly before I even think about putting away the thought.
"DYLAN SERIOUSLY!" Jade screams impatiently waiting for more answers.
It's now or never.
"I'm sorry I was just thinking." I say not wanting to meet her gaze
"Oh well please feel free to share with the rest of the class!"
"Okay Jade, I start as I sit on her bed again, making sure to keep my distance, not taking any chances on if she regains her memory.
"Do you remember who I am?" She looks at me and rolls her eyes at the stupid question
"What do you mean Dylan, you're my bestfriend." She answers.
"No Jade ..." I start, her face puzzled.
" I'm you're boyfriend."
