I can feel my face turn red with anger. How could Dylan be a traitor? I thought he loved me. It wasn't like him when he went on a rampage before and practically destroyed a city. But this, this is different.

I trusted him.

I follow Jeb down hallways, but I can't concentrate every corner we turn. I left Nudge in the room from before. Its probally safer then where ever Jeb is taking me. I try not to think about Dylan.

"Here we are." Jeb said, opening the giant glass doors. I could see his hands shaking. I walked into the empty room. I looked up at Jeb, I've never seen him so anxious before.

Two men were standing there. One was short and fat, holding a clipboard and pencil. The other man was taller and muscular. He was wearing some type of military uniform.

"This is it?" The man in the military uniform scoffed scanning me up and down.. "It" really? I wonder how easy "it" could brake his leg?

"Yes." Jeb answered.

"You said you'd bring me something that could change the world, and all you brought was some girl?" The man looked at me with disgust.

"Not any girl. She is an Avian-American hybrid, she can do everything you need." Jeb said.

They talked for a while, but I zoned them out. I'm so frustrated with all of this. I feel like my head will literally explode. I missed my flock so much, most of all Fang. I'm nothing without them. Just the thought of any of them in danger mad me want to collapse and start screaming.

"How many more are there?" I heard the fat guy ask, speaking up for the first time.

"10." Jeb said simply. The flock and Dylan, that's only 7. I remember seeing a bird girl the last time at the Institute. The first time Ari died..

"And she is the best?"

"Well.. she is the oldest." Jeb said. What did that mean? How could someone be better then me?

"Why are you doing this, what is wrong with you!? We're people, just as much as you monsters are!" I yelled. I couldn't hold it in any longer. Everything I've ever know has been a lie. I'm not sure who I can even trust. Definitely nobody here.

"Calm down. Remember our deal?" Jeb says much more calm them earlier.

"Really, Jeb?" I glare at the man I once thought of as a hero, as my dad. "How many secrets are you keeping? If this is some game. I quit." I walked out the room and slammed the door behind me.

Jeb followed me. "Just two missions, Maximum. Then I will bring you to Fang and the rest of the flock. Just two." He said holding up two long fingers. "You have to do this. Don't you want to protect the rest of the flock?" He said in a quiet tone. I knew deep down I have to. I'd rather be dead than be without any of them. I learned that after I thought Angel was dead. I can't let anything happen to them again.

I have to do this.

"I promise everything will make sence soon." Jeb said softly. Less than a second later he stabbed a needle into my neck. I tried to punch him, but I couldn't hold onto consciousness any longer.
