Killer Neko (Hunter x Hunter Fanfiction)

Chapter 4

While looking around I noticed Gon arrive with Kurapika close behind him. Then I turned my head to look at Killua who hasn't seemed to notice Gon yet. So I decided that I would help him out a bit. Before jumping down from my tree I looked to see where Gon was heading. Which was over to Leorio who had been dropped off at the base of a tree by the clown. Now that I knew where he would be I hopped out of the tree and walked over to Killua, then poked the said boys arm like I had earlier.

"What?" Killua asked when he turned to look at my with his brows furrowed.

"Gon made it." I told him while pointing Gon out who was now talking to Leorio and Kurapika.

After I pointed Gon out Killua quickly approached him, "Gon!" he called.

I followed soon after as Gon was turning to face us. Kurapika looked over at us as well. He smiled once his eyes laid on me.

"I didn't think you'd make it in time. How'd you find the way here?" Killua asked.

"I followed Leorio's cologne!" Gon exclaimed with a smile.

"Eh? Are you serious? You're weirder than I thought." Killua commented.

"Well Leorio's cologne does have a...unique smell." I said with a hand on my chin and my head tilted slightly to the side.

"You too?" Killua asked surprised before sighing in defeat.

I giggled before looking at Gon and smiling, "I'm glad you made it Gon. I was getting worried for a moment there." I said.

"Ah, sorry Kat-chan." Gon apologized while rubbing the back of his head and sticking his tongue out.

The large doors then slowly began to swing open. All of us were silent as we watched them. When the doors finished opening it was signalled with a loud bang. After that I was able to clearly see two people waiting inside while comfortably sitting down. One of them was this girl who had hair that was put up strangely and also was the color teal? The guy who sat behind her was....large. There isn't much more that I could really say about him, imagine a sumo wrestler then imagine them being three or four times that size.

"Would everyone that passed the first phase please enter." The girl called.

All of us then walked through the doors. Inside I was able to see a lot of what appeared to be cooking stations. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the second phase would deal with cooking. Which by the way I have no skill in. So I might end up failing this phase. What a bummer.

"I'm Menchi, the second phase examiner." The girl announced.

"And I'm Buhara the other examiner." The large man stated.

"We are the examiners for the second round." Menchi said in a rather large voice that carried well.

After she finished speaking there was this loud grumble that sounded awfully similar to a stomach growling. Only on a much larger scale.

"You must be hungry." Menchi said as she turned her head to look back at Buhara.

"I'm starving." Buhara whined in agreement with the earlier statement.

"That's it. The second phase will be cooking!" Menchi announced.

The other examinees didn't seem all to happy about that. What did they expect? It was obvious to me that these two had to be gourmet hunters. Plus we are surrounded by cooking stations. A large amount of people then began to argue and make fun of gourmet hunters. By doing this though they are going to make this phase of the exam harder than it needs to be. Not wanting to listen to all the people being complete idiots I tuned them out and looked up at the sky. It appeared that today was going to be a nice day. That thought had me consider removing my cloak, though I didn't. I would not remove my cloak at least this early into the exam.
