"Well, I should probably get going, let you get some sleep," I commented, after we had been in pretty much the same hug position for five minutes.

"No! Er I mean please stay," Vic flushed red in embarrassment as we both sat up.

"Okay then," I chuckled, kicking off my shoes. Vic slid under the covers and shuffled over so I could join him.

I gently pulled him into my arms, so we were lying facing each other. He wrapped his arms around my waist, resting his head against the side of my neck.

After a moment of comfortable silence, he looks up at me.

"Are you okay?" He whispered, reaching out a little apprehensively to hold my hand.

"I'll be honest with you Vic, as much as I love you, I'm still a little scared of getting hurt, but most of all I'm scared they'll hurt you too," I whispered back, grabbing his hand back and holding it tightly.

"Don't be scared, Kell, I won't let him hurt you and I don't care if I get hurt because hopefully you'll be there for me too," he mumbled, resting his head back against me.

"Of course I will," I replied, smiling and pressing my lips to his forehead. I began to stroke my fingers through his messy curls and felt him smile against my neck.

"Kell?" He spoke up after a moment.

"Yeah?" I smiled down at him.

"I was just wondering, only if you want to, would you maybe wanna spend the weekend? Mikes at Tony's and my parents are out of town," he spoke nervously.

"That sounds great" I smiled.

"Cool, also can we go get some food I'm hungry?" He giggled, tilting his chin up to look at me.

"Come on then my little insomniac," I sighed, chuckling as I threw him over my shoulder, standing up and heading for the door. He giggled before relaxing against me.

"Hey I was sleeping just fine before someone came banging on my window begging for forgiveness," he sassed back.

Once we reached the bottom of the stairs I righted him again, holding him at arms length and admiring how happy he looked and how he kept shuffling the sleeves of his sweater up.

"Here," I smiled, picking up his hand and repeatedly rolling back the soft blue material until it was at the appropriate length.

"Thanks," he smiled back, pushing his hair out of his eyes with one free hand.

"So where are we going for food then?" I asked him, shrugging on my jacket and retrieving my car keys from my pocket.

"Hmmm, let's go somewhere fun I'm in the mood for an adventure," grinned, taking my hand as we exited his house.

"How about the all night Waffle House on highway 9?" I offered, opening the car door for him.

"I don't think I've ever been," he replied, kissing my cheek in thanks and hopping into the passenger seat.

"That settles it we're going,"
