We pull up at the Waffle House off the highway and I grab Vic's hand pulling him towards the door. His hand feels right in mine compared to hunters and it makes me smile at the ground as we go inside.
"Sit right here," I tell him, bringing him over to a booth.
"Okay," he grinned, cheerfully.
"Hi, can I get two double chocolate waffles and two coffees please," I asked the guy at the counter, who nodded. I handed over the money and thanked before heading back to the booth where I'd left Vic.
I slid into the seat beside him, watching as he yawned softly.
"Kell," he spoke quietly resting his head on my shoulder.
"Yes darling," I replied, running my fingers through his soft hair.
"I'm not going to let them hurt you I promise, I'll make all the pain stop," he whispers, wrapping his arms around my waist and cuddling into me.
"God you're so wonderful," I murmured, smiling at his words. "Also, I don't care if I get hurt as long as I'm with you,"
He beamed, leaning up and kissing my bruised face.
We stayed sat in the Waffle House for hours just eating and talking about everything until it was almost 4am.
We started driving home as the sun began to emerge.
