FARKLE'S POV

"...I'm a grown ass woman!" She slammed the door and I could hear her move back to the bed. She was right and I knew it. I moved us away from the door and over by the bathroom.

"Shes right, we have to let her know that you staying here over breaking isn't because of her. I motioned towards Lucas. "We've been best friends for a while, I think she can handle me being around."

"Thats not the point Lucas." Riley chimed in "Maya is going to think we made you stay to watch her." I saw that this conversation was hurting her. "This is ridiculous." Lucas was starting to get mad. "It's not always about Maya." His voice was getting louder. By now she defiantly heard him.

"You know he's right." Maya had opened the door and stared out at us. "All everyone argues about is me, you don't think I've noticed? The whispers, someone checking up on me every morning." We just stared at her. For once I didn't know the answer to this.

"Maya were just trying to help yo-" Riley started, stepping closer to her. "Leave." Maya shouted, but she wasn't looking at Riley. "Peaches, I..." Riley looked hurt like she was going to collapse. "Not you,"  She gestured to us.

"Them. You come here." Riley moved toward the bedroom. "You guys go get ice cream or something." She handed me a twenty dollar bill. "I want ice cre-" Maya closed to door before we could hear Riley finish. We all moved forward but Lucas hung back, not moving. "Coming pretty boy?" I said, knocking him from his trance. He nodded and walked down the steps.

RILEY'S POV

"I always loved this room." I sat on the couch that was across from the bed. Maya never really let anyone in her room, I understood why most of the time. She stayed silent even though she was the one to call me in.

"Maya, you never told me the full story and I'd like to hear it." She looked in my direction. "Lucas kissed me." She blurted out. I was taken back by her statement. "I think I missed something." I said slowly.

"In Texas, but that was it, one kiss." I think she was trying to make me feel better. It wasn't working. "What about the whole closet insistent" I wanted the truth and this time I was gonna get it. "I... I just," She started but stopped and lowered her head, looking down and her legs. "I had a panic attack." I knew she was lying.

"I can't believe it." I didn't know why I was so mad, maybe its because this story didn't add up. She looked at me with water soaked eyes. "Stop lying to me Maya!" I guess I was crying too.

"Fine Riley. Fine." Her words were aggressive proving she was mad as well. "I felt something in that kiss! But he came back and acted as if nothing happened." Crying and screaming aren't the best combination. "And he was with
you! And something snapped and I couldn't handle it! Then there was so much yelling. First Lucas, then Josh and now you, and so much anger." She looked back up at me, eyes blurry with tears.

"Everyone wanted the truth from me! You really can't blame me, Riley!" She was walking towards me, inches away from me. "Because I love him and he's with you." Her voice was almost a whisper.

MAYA'S POV

I walked out of my bedroom, and headed for my car. The whole running away was something I had grown fond of. But for once no one chased me. I was alone and I guess this is where I run off and cry to Josh, but I'm not gonna do that this time.
