The Vampire Prince: PILOT

"The party at Kelly Moore's house is going to be mega-amazing," my best friend, Ciera Cox said. It was all she'd been talking about all week, and I was done with it.

"CeCe! I am not going to Kelly Moore's party!" I exclaimed, "I have to work, so I'm going to be studying all night. I'm sorry, but I'm not going. Convince Thomas to go with you," I said as we sat down in our parenting class.

"But, it's the biggest social event of the school year," she said, looking at me with big, brown eyes.

"Then I'll be a social outcast and you and Thomas can go be part of the in crowd," I said and she huffed. We sat in silence until our teacher, Mrs. Luck, a woman with a short blond bob and grey eyes, came into the room.

"Alright, Jesse," she said, clapping and I looked up from where I was doodling on the corner of my notepad. "You've got the mechanical baby next week," she informed me.

"Who's my partner?" I questioned.

"A boy named Jaxon. He's new and he'll be here Monday," she said before going on to talk about the lesson for today.

I sighed, putting my head down on my arm. Of course, I had the baby on finals week, with the new kid. Could my life suck anymore than it does right now?

"Hey, relax Jess, maybe he's cute," CeCe giggled.

I groaned, "I love how that's all you think about, Ciera. I'm going to fail my finals because of this stupid class," I complained.

"I'm just pointing out what could possibly be on the bright side, you know a normal girl would think like that. And I'm sure you'll do fine, you're like, the smartest girl in our year," she said.

"Well, I'm not a normal girl," I sighed.

I paid as much attention to the lecture Mrs. Luck was giving.

"So," CeCe said once we were given free time, "since you have the baby all next week, do you want to go to Kelly's party?" she asked excitedly.

"Fine!" I groaned as the bell rang, "I'll go to the party."

"Yay! I'll pick you up in the morning and we can go shopping with Thomas after school tomorrow!" she exclaimed.

"Yeah, yeah," I grumbled, making my way to the gymnasium for my yoga class with Miss Kurt.
