Thomas's eyes narrowed as the landed on us, "What is he doing here?" he asked. He squared his shoulders and glared at Jaxon, his 5'7" nothing compared to Jaxon's 6'3". I stepped up and glared at Thomas.
"Thomas Jeffery Manson, stop being a little spoiled bitch," I snapped, almost at a growl. His eyes widened and he took a step back. I advanced a step closer, "Either you listen, and stop being an asshole, or you and CeCe never see me again," I warned.
He looked torn, but he sighed and stepped aside, "CeCe is in my room. She's not going to be happy, she hates this guy," He muttered the last part under his breath as he lead us down the hallway and up a set of stairs, walking to the first door on the left, a walk I had taken many times before, just under less tense situations.
"If she's not happy and hates Jaxon, she obviously isn't my best friend like I thought she was," I said and wrapped my fingers in Jaxon's. Thomas sighed and opened the door, walking in ahead of us.
"The hell is he doing here?" CeCe spat, glaring at Jaxon with a deadly glare. I stood in front of him as if he needed to be protected from my best friend. I knew he didn't, but I had to stand my ground, I couldn't let CeCe walk all over me and try to control me. "Jessabelle, get away from him!" she exclaimed.
I looked her in the eye and shook my head, holding Jaxon's hand tightly. "No. I won't get away from him, I won't leave him. I love him, Ciera, and if you can't, or won't, support that, tell me now, because I'm not going to waste my breath," I told her.
"You'd choose him over me? Some guy over your best friend? The one who's been here for you since you moved here? Who stood up to Tiffany when she tried bullying you? Does that mean nothing to you anymore?" she asked, narrowing her eyes at me.
I shook my head, "I'm not going to choose, not unless you're going to make me. You don't understand, Ciera, I can't leave him, it wouldn't just kill him, it'd kill me. All you've got to do is let us explain, or you can not and never see me again. It's up to you," I said, quietly, looking between her and Thomas. I pleaded with Thomas, using my eyes to convince him.
"I say we let them explain," Thomas said. CeCe looked at him astounded and he looked back. "I am not going to lose my best friend because you think her..." he trailed off and looked between Jaxon and I.
"Boyfriend," Jaxon filled in for him, kissing my temple as I looked up at him. He didn't even ask me. I'd say yes, of course, but he could have asked instead of assuming like that. I looked back at CeCe and Thomas.
"Her boyfriend is a monster. I know what we saw was weird and I honestly don't know what kind of explanation they could have for it. I'm willing to be open minded, but I am not willing to lose my best friend," he sassed and looked at me, "Go ahead, Jesse. We'll listen to your story," he said.
I nodded, "I'll let Jaxon explain, he's better at it, and I'm still kind of overwhelmed, but I know I love him, and I know if you guys know me, you know that's a big deal," I told them, looking them both in the eyes. Thomas smiled warmly and pulled me over to his bed. He gestured Jaxon to take his computer chair before he sat between Ceira and I.
"Um, okay," Jaxon said and rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm a vampire. I don't know how else to put it, how else to say it, and I don't think you care. I am 29 years old, technically, but we stop aging at eighteen, if we're born vampires, yes, my mom looks my age, as does my father. I have two other brothers, but you, hopefully, won't meet my eldest brother, and my elder brother is sick. Malique is my only sister, and she and I live with our God mother of sorts, Ellara. Mal is actually here, she's outside, waiting to see if we're safe. Ellara is the one who told me I'd find Jesse, and I'm so glad I believed her. Jesse and I met Saturday night, I felt a pull that pulled me towards the house, and when I walked in, there she was. Ceira stole her away from me, though. I'd never felt so enraged, I'd just gotten her, and some measly human believed she could take what was mine away from me. I knew I had to see her again, so I followed her scent until I reached her house. I didn't know if I would have any classes with her, but I knew I had to see her, and I was so relieved when I walked into that parenting class and she was there. You see, I imprinted on Jesse, I have literally never loved anyone as I love Jesse, and I never will love anyone more. I will never hurt her, and I hope you won't hurt her by making her choose between the two of you and myself," he said.
My heart swelled and melted all at once as I stood up and walked over to him. I gave him a passionate kiss before looking back at Thomas and CeCe. Thomas had tears in his eyes and CeCe was looking at her fingers in her lap.
"That is the cutest thing, ever! Love at first sight! Beauty and the Beast! Do you sparkle?" Thomas exclaimed, jumping over, closer to us on the bed. He put his chin in his hand and looked at Jaxon with wide eyes.
Jaxon chuckled, "No, I most certainly do not sparkle. The sun doesn't do much but irritate my eyes. The only time my eyes change colors is when I'm drinking, and I have fangs that only extend when I'm about to bite," he told my curious friend.
"Does imprinting happen to everyone?" CeCe asked, looking up at the two of us. Malique came in then and sat beside her. Jaxon gasped and looked between them, pointing at them and then looking at me.
"It does, if you find the right person," Mal said.
