Sunday went by without anything too exciting happening. I went to work at 8:30, leaving my friends a note and wishing them luck with their hangovers.

My day at the music shop I worked at was slow, only having two or three customers at a time. I used my spare time to study, nervous four the days ahead.

Monday morning went by easy, and I made it to school on time, meeting up with CeCe and Thomas at a hole in the wall coffee shop for breakfast.

Thomas walked CeCe and I to our parenting class, before skipping off to his Spanish class.

CeCe sat in our usual spots in the back of the classroom, two empty desks on either side of us, and talked about what finals we were going to be taking this coming Thursday and Friday.

"Well, Thursday's finals will be easy. Parenting, music, math, and bio will all be a cake walk and are mostly with you, and then Friday I have drama, English, and history, I'm a little nervous about English," CeCe admitted.

"Thursday may be easy, I still need to study, and Friday is a cake walk, CW, English, and history are my best subjects," I was saying as Mrs. Luck came up to us, someone standing behind her, at just the right angle that I couldn't see them.

"Miss Thompson, this is Jaxon Nightshade," the older woman said, stepping to the right and bringing the boy into view. Our eyes met and my breathing hitched. Blondie.

"Hello, I'm Jaxon," he smiled politely. I stared at him a little longer, his golden honey eyes gleaming with amusement. I was brought out of my trance by CeCe jabbing me in the ribs with her pointy elbow.

I blushed and looked away, before glancing back at him, "My name's Jessabelle, but everyone here calls me Jesse," I said, biting my lip.

"It's a pleasure to meet you," he said, a small smile forming on his pink lips. I wondered what it would feel like to have them against my own.

I blinked and my eyes widened, shocked by own thoughts. I looked at CeCe, "You've turned me into a monster," I told her, then looked back at Mrs. Luck and Jaxon.

"I will be right back with the baby, Jaxon, you can sit next to Jesse," Mrs. Luck said. I glared at her, trying to send daggers at her with my eyes. Was she trying to make me foolishly embarrass myself in front of this boy?

"So, what is there to do for fun around here?" Jaxon asked me, looking intrigued to know what I had to say.

"Oh, don't ask Jesse. All she does is sit around at home, reading or writing, she studies a lot, too, she's what my friends and I call a study-aholic," a girl named Tiffany said, coming to stand in front of Jaxon. "I can show you some real fun," she purred, leaning over the table. She was showing way too much cleavage and screamed desperate, bit that's what guys go for.

I sighed and looked at CeCe, who was glaring daggers at Tiffany. "Why don't you leave? Nobody wants you here in the first place, you nasty ass hoe," she said.

"Well, I think Jaxon, here, wants me, don't you, Jaxxy?" she asked, leaning forward some more, biting her lip and batting her lashes, trying to be suductive, but she just made me want to vomit.

"Actually, I don't. You're kind of grossing me out, and I think I might actually vomit. You should put some clothes on, respect yourself, then maybe you wouldn't be infested with STDs and have a kid by the time you're eighteen. I'm sure I'd much rather hang out with Jessabelle and her friends than you and yours," Jaxon said, his face scrunched up in disgust.

I stared at him wide eyed. He'd just called out the most popular girl in school, and he'd stuck up for me. Holy cheese and gravy!

"Now, if you'd leave, it'd be very much appreciated," I said, turning to look at Tiffany's shocked face. It grew even more shocked as I spoke, seeming as I've never stood up for myself in front of her, but I just felt so much more confident towards other people all of a sudden. "Because, clearly, no one wants you here."
