"But, I'm not lesbian," CeCe whispered, meeting my eyes in a pleading glance.
"I didn't think I was either," Malique told her and looked at the ground. "I understand if you don't, if you don't want me," she whispered, her voice thick.
I felt Jaxon tense as he stared intently at his sister and my best friend. CeCe did the unexpected, to me, anyway, and took a hold of Mal's hand. "I'm all up for new adventures," she said.
Mal looked up at her with a dazzling smile, "Are you serious?" she asked, looking like a little kid on Christmas morning.
Cece smiled and nodded, "'Course," she said.
"I'll be right back," Malique said and jumped out of Thomas's bedroom window.
Cece's smile dropped and Jaxon chuckled, "Just give her a moment, she'll be back," he assured my best friend.
I nodded and stood up, holding my hand out for Cece to take, and offering the other to Thomas. "Come on, we're going to the drop off," I giggled.
Jaxon was in front of me in seconds, "The what?" he demanded.
I smiled at him cheekily, "You'll see, babe. Come on," I said, dragging them behind me and to my truck.
~~~~~~
The drop off was a cliff that jutted out over the ocean. I took off my shoes and jacket and motioned for Jaxon to do the same as CeCe, Mal, and Thomas were all doing the same.
"You plan on jumping into the ocean? Are you crazy? You'll get sick, I can't let you do that," Jaxon said, shaking his head. He gave me a pained look, he really didn't want me to do this.
"Jaxon, do you trust me?" I asked as I walked to the edge of the cliff.
"Of course, I do, with my life," he said, trailing behind me.
"Then you trust me enough to trust my judgement on this, don't you?" I asked, glancing at him out of the corner of my eye.
He bit his lip, "I do, but I'd prefer if you didn't. There are hundreds of things that could happen, and I can't deal with that thought," he told me, turning me to face him and holding onto my hips.
"Then jump with me. No one can protect me like you can," I said, playing with his emotions. "Please, I really want to do this, this is one of my favorite things to do, and we do it all the time," I pouted.
He sighed and began taking off his socks and shoes, "Okay, let's do this."
