Took For Granted

It was raining outside and I was terrified. Andrina wasn't home still and I couldn't go to school. If I went out in the rain my spell would be broken. I bustled around the house looking for my home. I needed to call her and ask her if I could stay home or at least get a ride from Cassandra.

"Looks like we'll be having rainy days all week." The radio man said.

I groaned as I finally yanked my phone out my bed mattress. I dialed her number but it went straight to voicemail. I groaned again and threw my phone across the room. Today was not good. I was tired and irritable. It was raining and I could no longer be in it.

"I hate this!" I yell into the air.

I throw my diary across the room and I knock all the bases off my desk. I couldn't stand being this person who had to deal with this all the time. I can't swim, drink water, or even be in the rain. I yearned for it even though I thought I wouldn't.
I cried and curled up in my bed. I guess there would be no school for me today. I drifted off back to sleep.

"Anastasia wake the hell up!"

I hear a voice swearing at me and shaking my arms. My eyes fling open and my eyes meet Cassandra's piercing ones.

"How...did you even get in here?"

"Your door was unlocked."

I sit up quickly and I rub my eyes viciously. I was not in the mood for guests or any attention. I was feeling sick and my stomach had a twisted feeling.

"Why weren't you at school?"

I glance at my alarm clock and I realize it's already five. I had been sleeping for hours.

"I was sick."

She tilts her head at me as if I was lying or something.

"I'm honest, I promised."

"Well, what were you doing with that cowboy yesterday?"

Confusion came in like lightning. A cowboy? What the heck is that?!

"Uhm what...?"

"David?! Rumors spread fast."

"Woah..woah...woah, We are not involved in that way. Who told you this?"

"A birdie did, and I'm not supposed to say who it is."

"Well, then I'll find out and set the record straight!"

"Calm down Ana! It's nothing big. It was just an observation."

"Why are you here?" I ask finally.

She sighs and fumbles with her nails. I watch her impatiently. I really didn't feel like having her here at the moment.

"Well, you know Alessandro's party is tonight...you wanna go?"

My heart picks up pace. Alessandro. The thought of him made me sweat. He was so perfect.

"He never invited me."

"He invited the whole school. That means you!"

I look at her doubtfully. I wasn't feeling to well lately. Maybe, a party wasn't the best idea.

"Come on! Please! I'll take you to my house so you can get a dress. I have the perfect one for you! I can do your hair. I can hook you up girl!"

I smile at this, but I still had this urge that this was not a good idea.

"I need to think about it first."

"You do realize it's five o clock and the party starts at nine. You don't have a lot of time Ana!"
