I sat with my legs crossed as the rain hit the window hard. My hands were folded in my lap and my stomach felt uneasy. I had to stay inside today due to the weather conditions. It felt weird coming back to a realization that I could turn back into a mermaid if I were to go back into the water. In me, there was a yearning for it. I suppose it was because water is all I had ever known. I breathed water. It was once my home. Andrina would scold me for thinking this way, but at times I really did feel all alone in the human world. I didn't exactly understand how she was able to cope with all of this for so many years and maybe she didn't. I'm pretty sure she felt like this at one time, but she wouldn't ever tell me that I'm sure.
I finally move from my chair and walk downstairs to see if Andrina was still asleep but to my surprise she wasn't home. Hopefully, tomorrow I could go back to school. I had missed so many assignments after the coma.
Knock knock.
I turned around slowly and eyed the door. Who could that be? Usually, everyone would be at school at this time of day. I walked over and peeked through the hole but I couldn't make out who it was so I just opened the door.
My face slightly brightened with surprisement. David's cousin.
"So this is where you live...I've been looking for you for such a long time." He says welcoming himself into my home closing the door behind me.
"Umm I don't even know your name, and you have no right to be." I snap.
"I'm Cody. You've met me before. Remember? At David's house?"
"That's one time and just because you tell me that now doesn't mean we are all of a sudden best buddies." I say crossing my arms.
He takes off the hood and his long bushy blonde hair spirals down to his shoulders. His blues eyes scanning me and everything in me felt shaken.
"I just want to get and know you better." He says putting his hand on his cheek.
"No, I don't know you."
"Damn it Anastasia. That's why I'm here. Ever since I saw you..I couldn't stop thinking about you. You're such a dream. You're a fantasy."
"Well if it's a dream, it's time for you to wake up and get out my house now." I say pointing to the door.
"I'm not leaving until you accept my invitation for you to come on a date with this Friday."
"No leave now."
He smirks and walks closer to me backing me up against the wall. All of a sudden my heart freezes and I feel his hands graze my shoulders.
"Stop it Cody. Get out my house please." I say as my voice gets more and more quiet.
He kisses my neck and breathes down my collar bone.
"Stop it." I say swinging my hands up and smacking his face.
He tries to kiss me but my hand blocks him so he kisses my hand.
"Come on baby, you know you want this."
"No! Get off me!" I scream hitting him in his back as he lifts me up and throws me on the couch.
His large body falls onto mine as I struggle for air. I hear him unbuckling his belt and some strange thing touching my inner leg. Oh hell no.
With every ounce of strength I had I bit him in his ear and he screamed and fell on the floor.
"You bitch!" He yells.
I get up and run as fast as I can out the house and hop on my bicycle. The rain had finally ceased which was probably the only reason I had felt relieved at the moment. I look and I see him stumbling out the house but I'm already fast on my wheels. Tears were flowing down my face as I raced all the way to Alessandro's house.
