"Hello?" The woman says again since I've yet to say anything
"Uh hi" really Jess that's what you say
"Can I help you?" She says she's sounds nice
"Is this Lucy Marin?" I ask her
"Yes this is she"
"Was your name Lucy Parker?"
I hear her breath hitch "who is this?"
"This is Jess Taylor. I'm writing a paper" I tell her
"I can't help you" I think she's about to hang up
"Wait please. I live in your old house and I'm supposed to write a story and I wanted to write a story about what really happened there so maybe everyone will stop making stories up that aren't true" I say in a rush before she can hang up on me
She's quiet but I don't think she's hang up yet.
"Are you still there?" I ask hoping she is
"Yes I am. okay but you will have to come to me I-i can't be in that house" she says I can hear her voice break
"Okay thank you" I tell her
She tells me her address and what day and time to come over
I just hope Luke doesn't hate me for this.
