February 19, 1864

"Have you seen Stefan?" As Tory stepped into Damon's room. Her brown wavy hair was tied into a braid and was laid in front of her shoulders. She had beautiful hazel green eyes and a cute little nose. She had well trimmed eyebrows and a soft, thin lips. She was about 1.66m tall. She had a beautiful body posture, which had curves and long slim legs. Somehow, she looked like her mother, who had passed away when she was only six. She was now 17 years old, she had two brothers, who is Stefan, 18 and Damon, 23.

Tory had paint on her left cheek, and her clothes was a mess. She loved to paint and also was very talented at it. Even her brothers said that it was a gift from God.

"So how's the painting going?" He said as he was lying down on his bed with loads of pillows around him. Looking at her with a sleepy look.

"How did you know that I was painting?"

"Because there's something on your face today, and it looks like paint." He said while turned sideways, hugging a pillow in his face.

"I'll clean that up later. So where's Stefan?" Ignoring the paint.

"He's waiting for...someone outside." Damon hesitated. "What's that in your hand? A love letter?"

"What? This?" She said holding up a letter. "It's just something about my paintings. Wait, he's waiting for someone? Who is it?" Tory asked curiously. "Oh, is it the girl that Stefan met during father's birthday party last night?"

"Ding, ding, ding, ding, bingo! Two points for Tory! " as Damon lazily got up from bed, and started to take off his clothes. "Now, get out. Or do you want to see my naked yet amazing body?" He said as he gave a cheeky smile.

"Ew.. Gross. By the way, father's going to be so angry when he found out that you just woke up." It was 12 noon and their father doesn't like people getting up late, especially Damon.

"Yea yea whatever."

"Well, see you later." Just before Tory was walking out, Damon stopped her.

"Oh right, little sis? Did you still remember the deal that we made?"

"What deal?"

"That time when I saved you from father's lectures, and you said that.."

"I will paint a portrait of you. Yes, I know. I will do it tonight." She said and shut the door behind her. Even though Damon was serious about the portrait thing, but Tory didn't seem to care at the moment. She wanted to inform Stefan that someone was interested in her painting and that she was asked to paint a picture for that person. She was excited to tell Stefan about this, because Stefan knew how much this would mean to her, better than Damon.

As she was walking down the stairs, she kept on thinking about the girl that Stefan was going to meet up with. She knew that something was unusual about that girl.

As she was about to get outside, the girl came. She hid behind the windows and peeked through the curtains. The girl stepped out of the carriage, and had her hand holding a small piece of letter. She gave the letter to the coachman, and came to Stefan, who was waiting for her arrival, they started chatting and laughing. Tory could not hear what they were talking about, only their laughter. They seemed quite happy with each other, but something wasn't right. Tory felt it but she had no idea what was it. She could not take it anymore and came out of the house.

Stefan saw Tory and smiled not noticing the letter in her hand, "Hey, Tor, I would like you to meet someone." As he guided the girl towards her with his hand. "Tory, meet Katherine Pierce. She was..."

"One of the guests from father's party. I know." She interrupted.

"Tory, come on, be nice." Stefan said in a low voice at her.

"I learned it from Damon. " she said. "I'm Tory Salvatore. Stefan's sister." She reached out her hand and shook hands with Katherine.

"Oh, yes. Tory, you were the most beautiful girl at the party last night. And now it seemed that it has been a slight change, with that little mess you have on your face." She said and pointing at Tory's face which had paint.

"Tory is a wonderful painter. You should see the works that she had done. It's extraordinary." Stefan quickly said before letting Tory say anything foolish.

"We'll see. Just to let you know that I don't really like showing my pictures to others, I like to keep them to myself or to my brothers. I hope that you don't mind." Tory said as politely as she can, trying her best to smile.

"Not at all. After all it's yours, not mine." She said with a sweet, elegant voice, and went into the house with Stefan behind her. Tory sighed and followed them.
