Chapter 8

"Why didn't you tell me? " Tory asked both of her brothers with a serious look on her face.

"Because I don't want you to get involved with this." Stefan said as he turned his gaze to Tory from the fireplace.

"Well, now that I already am." She sighed and continued, "So what are we going to do?" Plunging herself onto the long couch, taking a pillow and hugging it tightly into her chest.

Stefan and Damon exchanged looks, sending each other codes. Tory couldn't wait, "Well? "

"Is Elena that he needs, and she will die again if she's in Klaus' hands. So, we were thinking that we should hide her. " Damon said crossing his arms across his chest. He always does this when he is serious.

"How? What happens if he find out? What are we going to do?" She said sitting up, still hugging the pillow.

"Which is why you and I have to stay here and distract Klaus as long as we can. And Stefan and Elena will go out of town and keep her away from Klaus. " Damon said.

"But if you go, Klaus will know immediately, because both of you used to be best buddies and you will always be with Elena." She said, shifting her gaze to Stefan, who was leaning against the table.

He stood up and put his hands into his pockets. "Then, I'll stay and Damon goes."

"So, since our plan is now finished, I'm going to sleep," Tory said as she stood up lazily and was heading for the stairs.

"Actually, we not quite finished telling our plan. " Damon said softly, but with Tory's special ability, she heard it loud and clear.

"So what's the last part? " she turned towards Stefan and Damon who were still in the living room standing side by side, like bodyguards.

"If Klaus knew that Elena is gone, which he will eventually, we can actually call for a backup plan." Stefan said.

"Which is? "

"Calling Katherine to act as Elena. " Stefan said scratching his head, like he did something wrong.

Stefan and Damon knew that Tory didn't like this idea. They knew that she loathe Katherine, but something unexpected came out from her mouth.

"For the sake of saving Elena, Katherine can come. " she said and went upstairs, to take a nice shower and go to sleep. What a day.

No matter how bad an idea was, or how much sacrifices must be made, in Tory's mind and heart, family always comes first. This is one of the best qualities of Tory Salvatore.

After a few days or weeks had passed, the relationship between Tory and her new friends or you can say, family had become closer.

Elena was packing up her things in her room and a knock on her door was to be heard.

"Can I come in? " a female voice said.

Tory. Elena thought.

"Of course." She said with a delightful voice.

"Gosh, how long do you need to pack up your clothes? We've been waiting downstairs for hours! Even Damon, who was so hyper, is now drooling on your couch." Tory said and sat on her bed. There were still many things that will need to be packed up.

Tory could not stand people who take their own sweet time, for example, Elena. She likes doing things fast and efficient, which sometimes makes things become worse.

"Man, you've got a lot of clothes." Tory said, with an amused look on her face. "Do you want me to help you speed things faster?" She offered.

"That's alright." Elena said, slowly speeding up, as she realised that she was too slow at the moment.

"You know what-"

A doorbell saved Elena from Tory's lecture of how to be quick, and she went downstairs wondering who is at the door and Tory following behind her. Damon woke up from his sleep, but luckily there wasn't any drools on the pillows, and came to the door as well.

As Elena opened the door, she was shocked. She expected this person to arrive around this time, but seeing her face to face was a different story. Tory's face clenched, trying to hide her face expression, memories slowly flowing back to her. Damon seemed normal, but he held both Tory's and Elena's shoulder, one to not let her kill their plan and the other to comfort her, giving her strength and courage.

The person who was at the door is a Petrova Doppelgänger.

Katherine Pierce.
