Chapter 14

(Tory's P.O.V.)

I woke up late in the afternoon, followed by a huge yawn. I stretched to wake up my muscles and got out of bed. I looked my self in the mirror and I looked awful, my eyes and nose were a little red because of what happened last night, and my hair was a mess. I felt a little better compared to last night, but there's still a hole in my heart, healing slowly.

After having a quick shower, I wore a plain white v-necked shirt and a pair of skinny jeans, had my wavy hair combed neatly and fell over my shoulders, put on a little makeup to cover up my eyebags and lip balm for my lips. As I got downstairs, there was no one, completely silent, except for the birds chirping outside of the house. I went to the kitchen to look for something to drink and found a small note sticking on the fridge, it said,

Gone to Elena's. Bonnie found smtg.

You can come if you want to.

I had a feeling that it was Damon who wrote this.

Seriously? I thought when I read the word 'awesome' .

My brothers said that I could choose whether to continue and join them on dealing with Klaus or not getting involve in it ever again. If I choose to continue, I will be able to get my revenge on Klaus for Amanda and help my family. If not, I could just live a peaceful life without Klaus bothering me. But, I had already gotten myself involved in this mess and I should help Elena and my brothers too. After all, family comes first.

I took my black leather jacket and headed off to Elena's house.

As I reached Elena's house, Jeremy opened the door and gave me a comforting smile.

"Hey, glad you came. How're you feeling? " he asked as he ushered me into the house.

"Great, thanks, " I answered and gave him back a smile.

As we walked to the dining table, my brothers, Elena and Bonnie were there. There were few books on the table, books that were once belonged to Sheila, Bonnie's grandmother. Jenna was out and Elena was in charge of the house.

"Hey, sis, " Stefan came and fave me a side hug.

"Hey, " I returned him the hug and let go. I turned to Damon, "Awesome? Seriously? "

"Come on, just admit it, you know that I'm awesome, which I obviously am, but I'm not sure about Stefan," Damon said with a teasing smile. Stefan rolled his eyes and went back to the book that he was reading just now, "Come on, let's get back here guys."

Elena gave me a hug and a smile, and continued on her research on the computer. Bonnie was reading her grandmother's books and turned to me.

"Sorry about Amanda, " she said with a soft voice. All I could do was smile at her, showing her that I'm fine. Then, she continued, "Grams told me stories about original vampires and there's a way to kill them. It's somewhere in there books, I just can't remember where, " she continued to flip through the pages, looking for answers.

I thought that I could help and started to search as well. I started off with a thick, leather cover book, which there's no title to it and I bet it was more than a hundred years old. I started flipping through and all I could see was witch's language that I couldn't understand. I saw symbols and drawings that I couldn't recognize. After flipping through a few pages, I saw a drawing of a tree and showed it to Bonnie. She read the sentence below it, which said, White Oak tree, the only weapon to end an original vampire's life.

"That's it! The white oak tree. We could make them into stakes and that would be much easier to kill them, " Bonnie said, like she just cracked a secret code.
