It was set. I was going to Tahoe for winter break with my dad, my twin brother, Shawn, and one of my brother's best friends, Alistair. I was also friends with Ali, as we had known each other since kindergarten, but had sort of drifted, not that we were ever that close, he was always been more of my brother's friend. Besides, we hadn't had any classes together since middle school and we were now juniors in high school.
I had never really thought of him as anything more than a friend, even though lots of people thought he was really hot, until the beginning of junior year. He had a girlfriend last year, but they had broken up over the summer. As I began to look at him as more than I had before, I realized that I had begun to have a crush on him. He is tall, like really perfectly tall. He towers over my 5'4" at 6'3". Nearly a foot taller than me. He has dark hair, not too short, not too long, and adorable brown eyes. His skin isn't perfect, but I like that, partly because my skin has always been my biggest insecurity, and partly because it made him more real, more human. He has a strong athletic build, as he plays many sports, currently basketball, after the football season had ended. His smile isn't perfect, though, which again, made him more human.
I don't really know what made me start seeing him as more than a friend but, now I do, and I can't unsee it. Though I don't think it really it matters to him what I think because the most talking we do, is when we say hi in the hallways at school. And sometimes, when I pass him, he doesn't even say hi.
The car was packed, Shawn, my dad and I had all of our clothes, but our skis and boards were already at our house, so only Ali had his snowboard in the trunk. Now he was sitting behind me in the car, as I had shotgun, my dad was driving, and Ali and Shawn were in the back seat. We left later on a Sunday night, hoping that most traffic would be gone, and that the mountain would be less crowded during the week as opposed to the weekend.
"Did you see Arsenal game yesterday? "Shawn said. Of course, they are already talking about the European Football League.
"Yeah I did, how do you think they played? I feel like they could have finished some more shots, but they took to many touches," Alistair said. I watched the games when they were on, but did not go out of my way to stay up to date with the scores. I put my headphones on, turned on some music, and rested my head against the window.
The drive, while in reality was only about 6 hours, it felt like an eon. We had eaten dinner before we left home, but had stopped half way for McFlurrys and for a bathroom break. We got to our house around 2 am. We unloaded the car, my dad went to his room, Shawn went to his, Alistair, having to option of sharing with my brother or to use a guest room, choose the guest room, and I went to my room. With it being so late, we were all really tired and had collapsed into bed.
Note: Let me know what you think about the length. In the future, I will try to make the chapters longer. This is my first story, so hopefully this is going to go okay! I am not sure how long it is going to be, but I will try my best to keep it updated. If you have any suggestions, please let me know and if you have anything else to say, please leave me a comment or send me a message, I would love to read it!
Shout out to @hothatsweethis for the amazing cover!
