Nick and I both looked at each other after Shay had left the room.
"What did I say?" Nick asked with a confused look on his face. I shrugged my shoulders.
"She hated it when I would make comments about her cute ass." Nick glared at me.
"She doesn't hate it when I say it."
"Maybe it's her time of the month?" I suggested and he just continued to glare at me. "I'll go talk to her," I sighed walking out.
I gently knocked on the bathroom door then opened it. Shay sat on the edge of the bathtub with her head in her hands. "What's wrong?" I asked shutting the door.
"I'm scared," she softly said.
"Scared of what?" I asked taking a seat next to her.
"I'm scared I'm not doing enough. Though I'm at every doctors appointment, and read every Type 1 Diabetes handout or online articles. I always try to follow their directions step by step, but is that enough?Because with diabetes, there's no room for error. We're talking about life or death and I can't lose Nick," she started to cry and I wrapped my arm around her back.
"It's your phobia isn't it?" She looked up at me with her glossy blue eyes. "I know I distracted you when Nick threw up after choking that one day and I know how much you hate it," I started to bite my tongue. This next piece of new information just might break her. "Demi and I are moving to Dallas next month. I know this is horrible timing, but we already have the house and everything." Shay sat there with no expression on her face as she stared at the beige wall in front of her. Her face went pale and I began to feel nervous about her possibly passing out. I kneeled down in front of her and grabbed her by the sides. "Shay I need you to breathe," I calmly said. She fixed her eyes towards mine and I instantly regretted telling her that I'm leaving.
"You're..you're leaving?" She stuttered. I nodded my head slowly. She looked at her feet and I honestly didn't know what to say next. We've always lived so close together that it's going to be a adjustment to us all. I quickly realized how real it will be after saying it out loud. "Does Nick know?" I shook my head and that's when the tears hit. Not only from her, but me as well.

Shay's POV
Hearing Joe say that he's moving hurts more than I ever thought could. Especially now given the fact Nick's sick and he won't be around for the next time. I've always relied on Joe to help me care for Nick on days when I feel like I can't. For the first time I'll be by myself and that alone terrifies me.
Joe placed his hands on both my cheeks and wiped the tears falling. "I want you to listen to me; You are strong, stronger than you ever could think. You can take care of Nick by yourself, I know you can. You've been around him long enough to know the warnings and take action. You're so involved in making sure he's always comfortable and know what he needs before he even says it. You know Nick better than I ever could, and I'm his brother. He's in great hands with you and please stop crying because you're going to make me cry," he said fighting between laughing and crying. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tight. He did the same to me and I could feel his tears landing on my bare shoulder.
