"Get off her!" I hear a deep accent growl.

I fall from his arms to the ground.

"Who the hell are you?!" Asks Shane, furiously before being shoved into the concrete wall and falling to the ground beside me.

"Unless you want to get the sh*t beat out of you I suggest you leave." yells the boy.

"Are you okay?" he holds out his hand to help me up. I look up to see a red faced Ashton.

"Yeah, thank you."

"Don't thank me. There was no way I was just going to let him do that."

"I didn't think anyone was here." I say.

"I stayed in to help my chemistry teacher grade papers. I'm not all bad you know?"

"I never thought you were."

"Good, wanna' go get some spiders?"

"Spiders?" I ask.

"Oh excuse the Australian, he mimics an American accent, "Want to go get some floats?"

I can't help but laugh at his terrible impersonation. "I'd love to but I left my money in my locker."

"Don't sweat it I'll cover the cost."

"You sure have changed, last I remembered you were very immature."

"Gee thanks."

When we get to the ice cream shop I say hi to Beatriz as always and order a strawberry and banana smoothie rather than a float. After we get our drinks we sit at a table near the window. I can't help but notice Ashton starring at one of the workers.

"So which one is it?" I ask.

"Which what?"

"Which girl are you starring at?"

"I'm not starring!" he acts insulted.

"C'mon, Ash just tell me."

"Okay well you see the girl scooping the ice cream over there?"

"Gabriella?" I ask.

"No. She's not bad either but no. I'm talking about the one next to her."

"Oh the one with the blue orange hair?"

"Yes. Every time I come I try to talk to her but I can't."

"I learned that the only way to get someone to notice you is by talking otherwise they might've already noticed you and you just don't know because you've never given them a chance to tell you."

"So what should I say?"

"Why don't you order some fries and while you're up there compliment her."

I watch him go up there and surprisingly he starts a long conversation with her about who knows what so I decide to just walk home with Gabriella.

She asks me about Ashton but I tell her that we're really nothing more than friends. I tell her about why happened with Shane and how Ashton nearly beat him up.

"Wow that's a good friend you've got there." she says.

"I know. The least I could do was give him some advice on talking to that girl that works with you."

"Who? G?"

"The one with pinkish, orange hair." I say.

"Yeah that's G."

"It turns out that today was my last day at school."

"I thought Friday was your last day." she says.

"I guess not, my mom says that these next days will be spent packing and saying goodbye to my family."

"Makes sence so when will I see you again?"

"Probably the day I leave."

The day comes sooner than expected. I say goodbye to my dad, grandmother, brother, mother, Ashton, even my pets, the only person remaining is one that I'll miss the most. Gabriella.

When I get to her house I knock on the door and quiet movements, the. The door opens to reveal al my friends from school, mostly Gabriella's friends but some of mine are there too. The most surprising member is Luke. That is... until I see Aria.

"Surprise!" they scream.

Tears start to build up in my eyes and it finally hits me how much I'm going to miss these people, how much I'm going to miss California.

"Oh my god! Thank you!" I say, hugging Gabriella.

"Don't thank me, thank your friends." she points at the couple sitting by the fire.

"Luke? Aria? You guys did this?"

"Yeah, I couldn't just let you leave without saying goodbye."

"I'm going to miss you." I hug Aria. Even though Gabriella is my best friend Aria was there with me through it all, she's the only who truly understands why I'm leaving.

She whispers as we hug,

"Go find your little star."
