I groaned as the sun beamed through the sheer cream colored curtains that hung neatly in the guestroom window. I knew that I had a long day and week ahead of me. Today was Monday which meant I had to start looking for a second job. This wasn't something I looked forward to but I knew it had to be done.

My eyes glanced at the alarm clock that was placed on the night stand next to the bed. It was only 7:30 but I knew I needed to get myself ready and prepare breakfast for Kennedy.

I sat on the edge of the bed and stared blankly at the cream colored carpet. "How did I get myself into this mess"? I thought. I shook my head in disbelief at my current situation. It wasn't all bad but it wasn't ideal. After wasting as much time as I possibly could, I made sure Kennedy was still sleeping before heading into the bathroom.

After my shower, I made sure to get Kennedy up and dressed. Although she was going to be in the house with her grandparents I refused to leave without giving her a bath. It wasn't their responsibility to care for her. Although they are here to help out I will always make sure she's clean and has food.

"Daddy I want pamcakes" My three year old said as we made our way to the kitchen

"It's PANcakes" I laughed

"I said that" she frowned.

"Did not" I joked

"Umm hmm" she said and I mocked her.

"Daddy" she whined. I could tell that I was making her mad. She has so much personality just like her mother.

"Kenny" I mocked. A frowned appeared on her face and I couldn't help but laugh.

"You mad at daddy"? I asked while tickling her. She nodded her head and giggled

"Stawp" she said lowly.

"What are you two doing"? Justine asked when we finally made it to the kitchen. I was so busy playing with Kennedy I didn't realize she was standing there. I laughed when Kennedy ran to her grandmother. Justine picked her up and Kennedy whispered something to her.

"He did"? she gasped. I laughed at Kennedy so call telling on me.

"You should tell him he's not getting breakfast" Justine said loud enough for me to hear. Kennedy thought she would kill herself laughing.

"Daddy you nawt getting brweakfast" she giggled.

"I don't care" I said jokingly.

"Boy if you don't stop messing with her" We both laughed. I walked over to Kennedy and kissed her forehead

and said my goodbyes to Justine and Larry before leaving.

I took a deep breath as Omari and I walked hand in hand through the halls of St. Memorial Medical Hospital. Today, I an appointment with my OBGYN to talk about my issues with fertility. I was against the visit in general but Omari insisted. Truthfully, I was scared to try again. I didn't want to suffer another heartbreak. I didn't want to hear that something was wrong with me. Omari on the other hand was hopeful and I appreciated him for that.

"It's going to be okay" he said after I signed in and took a seat next to him. I laid my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes.

"Knowles" the nurse called. Omari and I got up and followed the nurse through the double doors.

"The doctor will be in shortly" she said. Omari and I nodded. As I looked around the room at the posters of pregnant women my stomach began to turn in knots. Thankfully, the doctor walked in just in time.
