Fifteen minutes later, the police showed up along with Simon's dad. He turned toward us and let out a big sigh. He got to his knees and hugged Simon. Simon then stood up and hugged him back. After a while he hugged me too. He let go and asked us a million questions. Simon answered them while the police came up to me and asked me questions. After we exchanged all the information, the police finally left and we all three walked out into the parking lot. On our way out I spotted the kid who wouldn't let us use his phone stare at us with a glare.
We climbed into the car and started off. Our bags were still in the car from yesterday. Nobody talked the whole ride home.
Simon helped me get my bags out of the trunk and into the house. Nobody was home due to the car being gone.Simon set my stuff down and gave me a big hug.
"I'm so sorry for what happened."
"What do you mean? It happened to both of us."
"I know but seeing you like that, just made my stomach drop. I never meant for this to happen."
"It's ok, I already said it was not your fault."
"I know but I just want you to be safe."
He leaned in and kissed me. I was shocked, yet soon kissed back. He then gave me one last quick hug, then walked out the door. I was again left by myself.
