Next chapter.
I'm writing the next chapter of complicated after I post this so expect it soon...
Chapter Two
Seth's PoV
I hated going on patrol with Jake, and the pack hated being on patrol with either of us, but more so when we got stuck together.
They always complained on how dark our minds were. Jake, on his depression because Bella decided to rescue her leach-lover. I, because my dad is dead and I'm a werewolf from the tribal legends.
At times I believe it was my fault that my dad was dead. If me, and Leah, didn't become wolves, he would still be alive. He wouldn't be dead. But also because of the whole funeral thing, the Cullens returned, which made Jake even darker.
The cure for Jake's love-sick-puppy-thingy was an imprint... most likely, since Jake wouldn't give girls a second glance if they didn't resemble Bella in anyway.
I hated Bella. Hated her guts, everything about her. She made my best friend something I don't know anymore. She made him mope in depression. He had no spark or energy anymore.
So patrols now sucked with Jake. We would lap him as moped on patrol. He wasn't healthy anymore, well not physically, but mentally.
'Has anyone met the people that live in that house on the boarder?' Sam asks, trying to start conversation about the house that was built right on the treaty line, half on the Cullen's land on half on our land. He lost today on the straws. Not that I cared who patrolled with me.
'No' I answered. I have seen the house, which is great architecture. It was very modern. Made with straight lines and sharp corners.
'Why should I care?' Came Jake's late reply. Jake's depression didn't really help me or anyone. Jake growled at me as he heard my thoughts.
'I think we should meet them. They live right on the border.' Sam mused.
'So we're going to meet the new neighbors later?' I question him as I pass the house we were thinking about. From what I could tell, this family was rich. Really rich.
They had a large car garage, which was probably full with nice and new cars, and a big pool in the back. I looked at it this morning because it was new.
'Would I have to come?' Jake asks. See, he's totally not Jake.
'If you don't want to go Jake, Seth, Paul, Jared, and I will go.' Sam answered as he too peered at the new house. Jake slowly followed and looked at the garage at awe.
'Actually I might come.' Jake said, drooling at the potential of cars this family could have.
'Okay...' Sam answered slowly. Both of us thinking about a mechanic's heart. Cars and Bella is what kept Jake going before. Now it was only cars and worries for Bella.
Even as much as I hated Bella, I wondered how different it would be if Bella was Jake's imprint. The person you would do anything for. Your soul mate... Some believe that some imprints might be meant to only be friends, not a lover, but that wouldn't matter anyway. Like I said, we would do whatever, and be whatever, to our imprint. But in return we had happiness, a great happiness that we can only get when we imprint on someone, an unexplainable high.
I envied my pack mates that had imprints. I wanted one so badly. She would be my one perfection. She would help me through this time in my life. I would love her unconditionally; I would worship the ground she walked on. She would be my everything... Okay, that's what every member would do for their imprint. But not all of us wanted one. Paul would be one of those people. I couldn't start to wonder why he didn't want one.
I let myself go into daydreams of what my imprint might be like. Was she hot? Or was she boring, well to other people, not me. Was she smart? Was she funny? What hair color? Personality? The list went on and on, next thing I knew, my patrol was over.
'Let's go to Emily's' I think as I already start running towards her and Sam's house. The food Emily made, so delicious.
'Of course. How about you Jake?' Sam answered as we neared the house, but Jake started towards his house.
'I'll pass' he thought quietly before phasing back to a human.
Sam and I phase back and walk into the house, the warm smell of muffins filling it.
"We're back!" Sam hollered as we walked into the kitchen. Emily turned and smiled at us. After being here so much, her scars didn't bother me as much. But don't tell that to Sam, he'll have my neck.
"Good, maybe you can help me deliver some muffins to the new neighbors." Emily said as she placed some muffins on a small platter. "From what I heard, only one person is living in there. A senior high school student going to Forks High. I feel so bad for the girl. It must be so lonely in that big house." Emily had a soft voice at the end.
That house only housed one occupant? Whoa... It must be lonely. But a high school girl? What did she do to piss her parents off... or maybe make them love her enough to build her a house, buy her expensive and fast cars, and let her live by herself? I feel mostly bad.
"Seth will come with us. I'll pull along Paul and Jared if possible... Well I'm pretty sure Paul will come because she will be 'fresh meat'. Jared will probably be stuck to Kim." Kim is Jared's imprint. Like Emily is Sam's.
"Thank you so much Seth! Maybe we should invite her to a bonfire." Emily gives this puppy look face to Sam, knowing him, he's going to cave.
I watch Sam; I can tell he's trying to say no. Poor guy.
"I mean, a teenage girl, all alone in that big new house, wondering who is her real friends because of her family's obvious wealth..." She gives him more of a puppy dog look.
"Fine! We'll invite her to bonfire. She can be Seth's date." He says before stuffing a muffin in his mouth.
"Hey, why me?" I whine at him. I didn't want to take a date that wasn't my imprint.
"Well I guess I could give her to Paul... or Quil." He gives me a stern look. "But would rather have you do it." I sigh, knowing I would the battle between us no matter what.
"Okay okay, I'll do it for you, and only you... and maybe the girl's mental health." I joke at the end.
"Great!" Emily says. "After school ends, get Paul, and we will go do a welcoming visit." She looks at the plate which the muffins were on. "I have a feeling that this plate will look like garbage against the rich plates she probably owns. I wonder what the inside will look like. Is it as modern as the outside?" She starts rambling about the new house.
"Well I'm going to try to take a nap. We still have a few hours before Forks High ends for the day." I say and look at the couch skeptically. "Pick me up before you go at my house."
I then walk out, after grabbing as much muffins I could, and walked home.
So now we have met the two main characters. Tell me what you think.
Im going to try to post pictures of what the characters are supposed to look like, so you should look back to chapter one to see Helena's picture...
Comments please, I really want to know what you think, good or bad.
