Chapter Seven
Helena's PoV
Panic was rising from me and Agathangelos was we were surrounded by the people we had been trying to run from for the last century or two.
The blood red eyes that matched ours, but they were so different. They held the lust of power they would get if they either killed me or made me join them, both were things I didn't want to do.
"Ambrotosa dear, we have finally got you" the leader figure told me as he walked out of the darkness, his dark hair matching his mood.
"And I care why?" I hiss at him, shielding Agathangelos. His ability wouldn't help here, and his strength no match to this group.
"Because if you want to protect your mate, you will join us," he smiled victoriously. He knew he won. Any vampire would give up anything for their mate... if they really true to them. And I was to Agathangelos.
"Fine," I hiss hatefully, "I will agree, but me and my mate will be allowed to come and go from the duties you force on us."
"Your mate doesn't have to do anything with this Ambrotosa, only you. We just use your mate as leverage to help us." He smiles happily. I hear Agathangelos whimper as one of the vampire use their ability on him.
He had always been weaker than most vampires, he was to pure and good. He didn't have any craze when I turned him.
I hiss loudly towards the vampire torturing Agathangelos, and she stops immediately, knowing I could hurt her more than she could ever... and it wasn't just mentally.
"Fine," I say again, "I, Ambrotosa, now join the Volturi guard." I pronounce.
"Welcome Ambrotosa," Aro pronounces gleefully, "Ambrotosa suites you very well. Fits perfectly, as ambrotosa means immortal. You my dear..." He goes off in thought. "I have finally defeated all of the Originals. I have defeated the most feared vampire empire." He gives a happy cackle.
"One day Aro, karma will kick your ass." I say, and then grab Agathangelos's hand as we follow Aro and his... coven.
I wake, or well snap out of deep thought. I was slightly confused with my surroundings... my memories did this sometimes, make me believe that the very event was happening again.
I had remembered when Aro had taken me and Agathangelos in the Volturi guard... well me in, Agathangelos was just along to keep in me.
I look around my surroundings again. Green, trees, and the smell of vampires and wet dog.
Last night's events replayed a few times. Me, turning into one of the creatures that killed Agathangelos. Seth... he was one of them. I wouldn't be surprised if the rest that came to me where also shape shifters... and now I was one too.
But back to Seth, when I looked into his eyes, I felt like my world revolved around him... that never happened even when I was with Agathangelos. Never...
I let a howl rip through my muzzle with fear. I still haven't been able to change back to my human form and I didn't like that. Didn't like that at all.
I start aimlessly walking around the forest until I find myself back at my house. Smells from other shifters thick in the air. They had been here recently, probably trying to find me.
I sit on the ground, if they want to find me, here I am...
Its either they are really good at finding things, or were already looking for me, but after ten minutes sitting in the forest, a gray wolf finds me. He looked startled to find me sitting on the ground, but got over it and had a face of concentration... like he was communicating with someone through his head. Maybe it could happen, that would explain how the wolves got Agathangelos.
We have a staring contest for a few minutes before I hear the rustling of leaves surround me. I immediately stand up and start growling, but they all fade away as I see Seth walking towards me. As much as I wanted to kill his kind, I couldn't bear the thought of hurting him. Hurting him would hurt me... how did I get that logic?
"Calm down," Seth's soothing voice says to me. "Calm yourself down. It will help phasing back to your human form."
I nod slowly at him. Maybe this will be like when I have to relax to cross the bridge in my mind. I let myself do the same exact thing and feel a rush of feeling, it was surprisingly a nice feeling.
I look down at myself and notice I'm back to my human form... and that I'm naked. My eyes shoot right to Seth and the gray wolf. Seth was blushing madly, and I think if the wolf could, he would too. I was also blushing, but only because Seth was here, my new reason of life. I didn't care if the wolf saw me, many men, especially a long time ago, had seen me naked. It wasn't anything new.
"Uhh..." Seth breathes as he looks at me lustfully... and maybe a bit more. "I think we should get you some clothes."
"Yeah... that's probably a good idea..." A silence then fell over us. It was awkward, but confusingly comfortable. "Look after that, could you tell me what the hell is going on with me?"
"We'll try; we've never met someone out of La Push phase..." His voice held wonder as we started trekking back to my house.
"Okay then can you tell me things you know about your..." I didn't know what they called themselves. Were they a pack? A tribe? A coven? Grouping?
"Pack," he answers the unspoken question. "What is weird that your mind didn't connect with ours, I wonder why though. Maybe you have to pledge your loyalty to Sam's pack." He rambles, but stops as we reach my backdoor. He looks uncertain if he's allowed to come in.
"You can come in Seth," I laugh lightly. "Get yourself comfortable. I have food in the fridge, along with all kinds of drinks. You can even invite your 'pack' here to talk. I'm pretty sure I have more than enough room." I say nicely to him. I feel like I have to be nice to him.
"Yeah... It's bigger than Emily's kitchen... Do you have a phone I could use?" He asks, still memorized in looking around the living room. I had a style, you could even guess by just looking on the outside. I liked it neat, with straight lines and right corners. I didn't care with the rooms clashed at all, all I cared if it was perfectly done in straight lines and right corners.
"The phone is next to the fridge. If any has girlfriends, bring them over too." I smile happily before running up the stairs and find some clothes... I then realize that Seth and I had a regular conversation while I was naked. I think I'm going to have to learn to be naked at weird times in the forest.
I grab a pair of blue skinny jeans and a white shirt with a sparkly rainbow. I keep my hair down, like I always to, I rarely put my hair up. I put the little make-up I need on, and trot downstairs where Seth is talking in the phone while stuffing his face with one the muffins Emily gave me.
Looking around, I realize that he looked out of place. Not like he was awkwardly standing aside, but he just didn't match my 'straight lines and right corners' style. I sigh, I really wished he would like he fitted. He probably would do better in the living room, pool, and the master bathroom, they all had browns in them... he would also look good in the bedroom... I blush mentally at that thought.
I just met this boy and he was the center of my life. I was already thinking of having sex with him... I really am perverted. That is a new fact about me I just learned... or it's just a new fact about me. I wasn't even this crazed about someone, even Agathangelos.
Agathangelos would have looked perfectly at home in this room. He probably would wear nice fitting jeans with American Eagle or Hollister shirt. That was just the way he was, like me. Both of us were attention-whores in our own different way.
"Helena? You okay?" Seth waves his hand in front of my face. "You kinda spaced out for a second."
I nod slowly. "I'm fine; just think about my past a little." Wrong words, I should have said something about the shape-shifter thing. I'm so stupid sometimes.
"Okay then. The rest of the guys and some of their girls are coming over now. You'll get to meet the whole pack, along with their imprints." He smiled widely at imprints.
He must have an imprint... whatever the fuck it is. And I don't like it. I wouldn't like her... well I think an imprint has to do something with mates.
Imprint... isn't that something to do with ducklings??
