Chapter Eight

Seth's PoV

I watched as Helena's face fall when I mentioned imprints... and that I smiled when I said that. Does that mean she has feelings for me? Maybe imprinting does go both ways...

"Really... that's great. I mean this is so... scary" Helena said in a bit of a spooked voice. She then shyly took steps closer to me. "So... do you like the house?" She asked, giving me eye contact.

I looked into those gray pools and everything bad disappeared, I was content. I heard a cough come from her and instantly blushed; she knew I was staring at her.

"The house is very nice." I gave her a weak smile, it was the best I could do after embarrassing myself in front of her. We didn't say anything to each other, but just stared in each other's eyes. I can't say that I love her, but it was close, since imprinting is more or less like love at first sight.

As we stared into each other's eyes, we gradually leaned into each other, my eyes fluttered closed. I was going to know what it is like to kiss my imprint!! But just as my lips gazed over hers...

I make them good girls go bad

I make them good girls go

Good girls so bad, good girls go bad

Helena quickly pulls back and I groan under my breath. I swear I heard her groan and swear too, but I wasn't too sure.

I know your type, your daddy's little girl

Just take a bite (one bite)

Let me shake up your world

'Cause on night couldn't be so wrong

I'm gonna' make you lose control

Helena's eyes go wide as she recognizes the song and starts running towards where the sound it was coming from. Just as it was going to the next verse Helena finds her iphone.

"Alec!" She screams happily into the phone. Alec, it was a boy's name. Jealousy raged through my body and I found myself growling at 'Alec'. "You know I'm going to have to change the ringtone, I don't think you ever make a 'good girl go bad'... You should have called me earlier... never mind, I was busy... So I wasn't able to get to the phone earlier."

Oh, so I wasn't important enough to say she was busy, but when she was a wolf... Well I guess you can't pick up your cell in wolf form.

A muffled reply came through the phone, as much as my hearing was enhanced, I couldn't get anything from Alec's side of the conversation.

Helena giggles at whatever he said. "It's no boy Alec... I know you wished it was..." What did the mean? "Look, I have new friends; I think he would have wanted that..." Who was 'he'? "I'm not going against my duties; it was deal I made with Aro when I joined..." Why did I have a feeling she was using vague words so I didn't know what was happening? "Look, if you are just calling to bitch at me about me leaving for a while, then suck it up... I don't care if Jane is getting on your last nerve... She's your twin!"

Helena huffs and puts a hand on the end of the phone. "Seth, I have important talk with Alec. I'm going to the basement. Let the guys in when they come." And with that she walks toward a door that probably leads to the basement and leaves me alone.

I start pondering about what I heard from Helena's side of her conversation. Who are Alec, Aro, and Jane? But more importantly, who is 'he'? 'He' seems very important... I sigh lightly.

Right now I wish Alec didn't exist. If he didn't, Helena and I probably would have had our first kiss, even if we only met yesterday.

Well hopefully I will have more chances to do what I wanted to do. Maybe even more...

I go back to the kitchen and open the fridge. I was slightly surprised on how much food there was... scratch that, junk food. Sure there were healthy foods in there, but it was also filled with cakes, pastries, and jell-o, also lots of chocolate covered fruits. I wonder how she stays so healthy looking...

I grab the bowl of chocolate covered strawberries; she has a wonderful taste of food. I plop one in my mouth and go to the living room. It has a nice view of trees... It probably would have looked better off a cliff, or on a mountain.

I look around for pictures of friends or family, but find none. Maybe they were still packed somewhere. I wonder if she has pictures of Alec...

I hear the doorbell peel and I walk to the front door and see everyone there, both the boys and girls. Leah is probably the only one not really happy to be here. I guess the whole 'this is my younger brother's imprint's house' wasn't going very well on her, Emily, Sam, and Jared where carrying food Emily most likely cooked.

"Wow" Emily breathed as she walked inside of the house. The rest, except Leah, agreed with her. "The house, it's so neat. So where is Helena?" She asked.

"She had a phone call from her friend; well I think it's her friend. She's in the basement now." I smile, but it wavers when I remember that this friend is Alec, a boy. "She said to get comfortable, and that she would be up as soon as she could." Everyone nodded absently.

Emily, Leah, and Kim went to the kitchen to do something, and the guys went to the living room.

"We should have brought swimsuits." Quil says. The guys laugh a little at him, saying that he should have remembered from last night. "Shut up" he mumbles.

I hear the platter of feet come from the basement door; a smile creeps up on my face. I couldn't help it. Helena was going to be back at with me soon. I would be able to see her, smell her, touch her... this is starting to sound stalker-ish.

"I'm so sorry that I couldn't be here when you came. My brother Alec had to bitch at me about Jane and the fact that I left him in Volterra." She says quickly. My smile becomes even bigger now that I know Alec is her brother. I still wonder who Aro and 'he' are.

"So did you become comfortable? Need anything to eat? Maybe something to drink?" Helena rambles on; I could tell she was very nervous. I wrap my arms around her and place my head on her shoulder. She instantly freezes, and I feel huge sparks in this contact with her.

"Calm down Helena. You don't need to impress them." I tell her reassuringly.

"You don't have to worry about impressing them, but you do have to worry about me." Leah says to Helena as she comes into the room, looking very intimidating.

"Did you really just threaten me?" Helena said in an equally intimidating and a bit snotty tone, both hands on her hips. It was really hot.
