"Yeah because vampires have no souls" I sneered, earning a glare from father. Although the council was insulting him and his family for the past two hours he still respects them.

"Look at you, insulting your own kind. It's all because of that filthy human that raised you" The highest member in the council, Jareth said as he scowled. Though what made me flinch was my fathers' sudden outburst.

"Enough!" His voice echoed through the room as his eyes wandered through all the amused faces of the other members of the council until they settled on Jareth. He continued "Don't you dare speak about her like that 'Dead' or alive, you have to respect her"

"Why should I?" Jareth said obviously challenging my father. "Because I'm second in command, meaning I 'still' have enough energy to end you. You'd finally be able to see your son again, rotten in hell" My father retorted with a glint of challenge.

Jareth knew my fathers' weakness but so did my father. No one meant to Jareth as much as his son Marco meant to him. As soon as my father said those words. Jareth absent-minded launched towards my father but before he striked, he was pulled violently by James. Third in command and my fathers' closest friend.

"You are the eldest, you're supposed to be wise not bickering like children" He said as he glared at both of them.

"Bring the book" James demanded one of the human servants as they quickened their pace to fetch it. After a while, he came back and handed it to Jareth.

"As an honor to your father but an embarrassment to the council, 'part' of your life is to be destined with a human being"

As soon as those words left Jareths' mouth. I was relieved but at the same time, I saw the risks my father took and the pain he went through for my mothers' safety and i don't know if I'm able to do the same.

Moreover, alot of questions were filling my head. What does she look like? Her hair color? Her eyes? Her length? Was she good? Was she...?

But before knowing all of this I had to know her name. So the only thought I voiced was..

"Will you tell me her name?" After i was acknowledged about her name and when I get to meet her, I left the room immediately.
"Soooo whose the lucky girl, Brianna?" Alec asks. "I'd rather stay single till eternity than end up with Brianna" I deadpanned.

Me and Alec were bestfriends since he was turned into a vampire.. maybe a few decades ago.

"Then which vampire is she? Is she my sister?" He asked worried. "She's not a vampire Alec, she's human" I answered confidently knowing that I am lucky to be destined with a human but I must admit that I'm afraid of the consequences.

"Are you ready to meet her?" Alec asked now serious about the topic.

"No I'm not" Honestly.. i must admit that I'm afraid of her reaction and if she would accept me as a vampire or not.

"When will you meet her?"
"After 18 years, she'll be living behind 'the woods'" i replied. "She's the one?" He asked surprised and i nodded my head.

"Last question.. What's her name, Ian?"
                       "Emma Anderson"
