We have given up so much of our time, tears, words, promises… to people believing that they will stay but like every single time we make the same mistake of trusting. Even though through time we slowly heal from it, the scars that we gained? Will never be lost.

Sighing as I kept scrolling through my phone, reading things that make me remember memories that I tried so hard to get over them but of course I’m never lucky.

“Emma” Bella said interrupting my train of thoughts. Before answering her I looked around noticing that she had already parked her car and was waiting for me to leave.

“Sorry I got carried away, I’ll see you later I guess” I said guilt surrounding my features. She nodded her head plastering a faint smile.

“Have fun at school!” She said laughing, because I mean who would have fun there anyways?

Walking through the schools’ double doors was actually one of the nightmares I was ready to endure. I bumped into someone ready to apologize but when I looked up and saw who it was I honestly wanted to suddenly disappear.

“Jayson??????” I shrieked, not expecting to see him. I know he moved to this town two years ago but I never expected we’d end up in the same school and I honestly wasn’t even looking forward for that.

Jayson was a good friend but he’s still from my past and my past is something that I prefer forgetting it instead of moving on because it will take a lot of time so him being in this school makes the task way harder than I imagined.

“I guess you never changed” Jayson laughed. “Huh?” I asked in confusion. “You still get lost in thoughts; I honestly thought you were over that. Anyways, we are already late to class so what’s your first lesson? I’ll guide you there” He said and since we were late as he mentioned I decided to ignore his first comment and take out my schedule to show him what I have.

He snatched it from me the moment I took it out. “You my friend, have Mathematics with Mr. Smith and just to be completely honest you will not like him from this lesson and moving on but because you just seem very lucky, I shall escort you till your class and join you too since I also have Mathematics” He said in a fake accent while quickening his pace making me laugh until we stopped in front a class room.

“You’re late.” The teacher said bluntly, “Yeah sorry I’m new and I didn’t know the location to this class” playing the new card was the best solution for this situation.

The teacher gave me a quick look over and nodded his head then looked at Jayson “And what’s your excuse?” Jayson raked his mind for a replied and then said, more like asked “I was guiding the new girl”

Mr. Smith rolled his eyes not believing a word from Jayson but motioned for us to get in.

“You must be Emma Anderson” the teacher said as he looked through the attendance, I only nodded my head and after that I quickly roamed my eyes looking for a suitable place to sit in but to my luck, the only place available was at the back.

I’m not a nerd and just like every other student I hate studying so what I usually do is, I focus on class completely and make sure I listened and understood everything so I wouldn’t need to study after doing my homework so sitting in the back wasn’t really helpful for such a case.

Making sure I walk as quickly as possible, I make the mistake I regret which was bumping into someone’s desk. I immediately picked up the pencil and book that fell and I didn’t mind the annoyed look the guy gave me because I deserved it but what caught my attention was the person behind him that was looking at me as if he’s trying to read me.

He was so lost in thoughts  that he did'nt even notice me staring back but he looked so familiar, I haven't seen him before but something inside me tells me i know him.
