01 | This Is Luke
"Sophie, your sister is coming home today and she said she has someone to introduce us to. Get ready!" My Mom yells at me before walking out of my bedroom, slamming my door behind her.
I grunt and pull my warm duvet over my head as I begin to regret doing a Netflix marathon until 4 am this morning.
I swing my legs over the edge of my bed and walk into my bathroom whilst yawning and I look at myself in the mirror.
You know that scene in the Disney movie called 'frozen', when Ana wakes up with her auburn toned hair looking like a birds nest and drool all over her face?
That was literally the image I saw in the mirror, except I have dirty blonde hair.
I moan in frustration as I get into the shower and wake myself up a little, as well as freshening up for when I meet this friend of Alison's.
You see, the thing with Alison is that she can be bipolar. She's sweet like a marshmallow sometimes, but the more you have, the sicker you feel. She is so nice to you one minute but then she will become sour and call you harsh names the next. Vindictive, in my opinion.
I grew up with Alison and my family was happy until she turned 15. She's now 19 and I suspect that she hasn't changed.
At the age of 15, Alison would stumble into the house drunk and would bring random boys back to her room nearly every night. Her grades dropped massively and all she wanted to do was party.
When she turned 18, my parents got bored of her selfish ways and they kicked her out of our home and let her go off on her own, but soon enough, she wasted all the money on alcohol and cigarettes. She then came crawling back to them to ask if she could borrow some more cash - that she didn't deserve.
To be fair, she did mature a bit and she used the money to buy an apartment. Soon after, she started college, much to all of our surprises.
I hadn't seen Alison in nearly a year, and you'd think I'd be happy to see her today.
That's where you are mistaken.
I slide my legs into my black, ripped skinny jeans and pulled a plain white T-shirt over my head. I swept my hair back into a high ponytail and quickly brushed my teeth before going downstairs to watch TV.
About half an hour later, there was a knock on the door and I heard my parents frantically rushing to the door to greet Alison and her friend.
"My baby girl, it's been so long since we last saw you!" My mum yells as she pulls her into a tight embrace and I scoff quietly underneath my breath.
Don't get me wrong, I adore my Mom and Dad, but they might as well just get the word 'mug' tattooed on their foreheads. They let Alison walk over them like doormats and I hate how they let her do that.
"I know Mom!" She says excitedly and goes to hug Dad as well.
She looks at me after hugging Dad and rolls her eyes dramatically, making me scoff.
"Sophie," She mutters.
"Alison," I answer back quickly.
That's how bad our relationship is. We dislike each other so much that it's resulted in us being blunt and bitchy, like 6th graders. She crossed her arms over her chest and then I see a tall boy walk into the house, an extremely hot one - may I add.
