"guys, really. you don't have to." i said, holding the long heavy box. they were all smiling at me, a glint in their eyes.

"just open it!" michael said. i think he was most excited because he was basically jumping out of his seat.

"okay okay." i rolled my eyes, tearing through the present. it revealed a cardboard box that i opened and there laid a brand new guitar case.

whoah.

my smile was ear to ear as i brought it out, examining it.

"guys! a new case, you didn't have to!" i laughed, extremely happy.

"you goof, open the case!" michael yelled, at the edge of his seat.

i opening up the case and there it was. a brand new guitar.

"you guys did not!" i yelled, standing up with my guitar. i was super ecstatic.

"we did!!" they said in sync.

"i love you guys so much i am so lucky." i said, bringing della to my side and kissing her lips slightly. she smiled against my lips and it made my heart happy.

-

"no mate. like this." ashton said, showing me the correct rhythm.

"this is boring." i admitted, placing the drum sticks down.

"shut up calum, drumming is an art." he stated, pushing me off the stool. i giggled, leaning ashton beating like a monkey on his drums.

i walked into the living room to see michael eating a brown haired girls face off who was sat on top of her lap.

"whoah i'm sorry guys!" i laughed when both of their heads shot up.

wait, i know that face.

"abby?" i said, my eyes wide.

"hey calum!" she cheered, smiling at me.

"i'm just gonna leave you two..."

i walked out onto my porch to see another girl placed on my steps. she turned around and those blue eyes felt like a million stabs in my heart.

"e-ella?" i stuttered as she was standing up. she had a daisy in her hand. her eyes flickered from her feet to mine.

"calum.. i've missed you so much." she said, stepping closer.

"stay away from me." i said through gritted teeth. i heard her gulp.

"you made me feel like shit for three years ella." i said, my shes still focused on the concrete.

"i didn't mean it."

"of course you didnt." i looked up and scowled at her.

"calum, hey what do you wan-"della said, stepping out. she saw ella and she looked at me.

"who's this?" she asked, smiling at ella.

ella gave her a guilty smile back.

"della, this is ella. the one who said.. it should have been me that died. the one who said i was fûcked up in the head and made me cry until i was numb for three years straight!" i said, looking back at the ground. ella threw the daisy to the ground and smushed it.

"it was jens favorite flower." she mocked, turning her heel and walking away.

della touched my arm and brought my face to look at her. i smiled at her.

"it's fine." i said, intertwining our fingers.

jen is in a better place.

this world wasn't good enough for jen.
