'What happened? Is something wrong?' Riad asks innocently. I and Ruchi remained non-responsive. Liqa decides to break the ice when she enquired about the cab, I snapped out from the shock and nod. I led them to the parking lot, on the way Liqa informs us that some of the close family members will come tomorrow morning and leave that night itself. Riad sits on the passenger's seat while the ladies, I Ruchi and Liqa, sit at the back seat. I stole glances at Riad all the way, still trying to find a connection between the gorgeous man right in front of me and the champu who is now a distinct memory. Ruchi is still petrified, I bet she is shocked thinking that just a while back she was flirting with "the champu".

Liqa is impressed with the resort, she says its thousand times better than what she had seen online. I kept watching Riad's expression from corner of my eyes, he simply nods his head in agreement but doesn't seem much interested. I and Ruchi silently fought on who will go with who to show their room. Ruchi very cleverly takes Liqa with her and I am left with Riad.

I glare at Ruchi who flashes a fake I-am-sorry grin. I felt so awkward as I lead Riad to one of the huts. I felt extremely conscious too, he must be looking at me or rather at my hips and my ass. To my bad luck, his hut is far from the reception and so we have to walk more. There is an unwieldy silence between us. I mentally sigh when we reached our destination.

'Your room' I say dryly.

He doesn't even bother answering and enters in, I frown, a thank-you wouldn't have cost him anything. I didn't bother much and walked away from there without any backward glance.

I met up with Ruchi at the reception again, she is still wide eyed. I suggest we go to sleep, as I turn to walk she held my shoulder

'Dude! That handsome man is our champu' she says slowly, I roll my eyes. I corrected her, he is not "ours" at least not mine. Ruchi goes to curse her bad luck, she wished she had gotten chance to kiss him back when we were sixteen and miraculously gotten into relationship with him.

'Imagine what beautiful kids we would have made together' she gushes. I then remind her that she is already engaged and should focus on making kids with her fiancé.

I didn't spend much time with Ruchi, I made an excuse that my head is aching and quickly went into my hut. I changed into my night wear and lay on my bed watching the ceiling intently. My mind racing back in time. The time when the drop-dead gorgeous man I met today was a drop-dead ugly boy some years ago, a boy who had a crush on me. It is funny how time changes everything, from people to their equations to everything.
