Few minutes there is no response, Adnan and Urooj both are looking down on the ground. But then Adnan takes a step forward and Urooj hesitantly takes a step back. I frown

'Leaving them alone was a bad idea...' Riad says exasperated

I roll my eyes 'Shut up, let me focus' I say angrily

'This is going to be disastrous I am telling you...'

'Shut up, else no sex for you'

This made Riad shut up immediately, I smile inwardly, Men!

I held my breath as Adnan extends his hand over hers, she looks at him. There is a brief eye lock.

Adnan says something, his gaze locked with Urooj. I am relieved because Urooj hasn't looked away nor moved her hand, it's a good sign, right? I felt Riad stiffen, he too is tensed. I am silently praying that everything goes well.

There is some talking happening, Adnan initiated the talk and Urooj is responding.

At one point, I see Urooj breaking down and Adnan placed his arm around her shoulder. He is saying something to her, she looks at him and rests her head on his shoulder crying. Adnan too wipes his tears. Both are crying, hopefully it's a good sign.

Urooj breaks the hug and is looking at him and is saying something, looks like she is convincing him of something, perhaps this is not a good sign? I am now biting my nails out of nervousness.

Adnan held her shoulder and is saying something, Urooj looks down and simply listening to what Adnan is saying. He held her cheek and lift her face making her look into his eyes. There seems to be no exchange of words, only them looking deeply into each other's eyes. Good sign, right?

Urooj places her hand over his and moves it, she shakes her head and is saying something, she is crying badly. Bad sign....

Adnan hugs her, she doesn't move back. Good sign.

Seconds later, Urooj breaks the hug. She looks at Adnan sadly and walks away. I turn to Riad

'You go to Urooj, I will handle Bhai' I say.

Riad nods and leaves. I walked towards Adnan. He sees me and quickly fixed his posture, he wipes his tears. I looked at him concerned

'It's getting late, I am going home. Come!' Adnan says,

'No Bhai, I can't leave before the reception is over. Riad will drop me home' I reply. Adnan nods but before I could say anything else he leaves without another word. My heart sinks, hopefully Riad has better news though from Adnan's reaction the chances of it is slim.

After Adnan leaves, I walked into the venue. Ruchi gets hold of me again, I say her everything. She placed her palm on my shoulder 'You go home, I will manage here' she says. I looked at her gratefully. She smiles, I hugged her tight.

I searched around for Riad, he will drop me home and also on the way I will ask him what is Urooj's decision? And in case the news is bad, we will think of a plan B.

'What did Urooj say?' I ask as soon I find Riad, he shakes his head. Looking at his grim expression I panicked. He goes on to tell me that Urooj rejected Adnan, she had said she still loves Adnan but because of everything that had happened she doesn't want Adnan to marry someone like her, instead he should marry someone who is young and unmarried. Not a widow with a child. Adnan had said, he loves her too and is ready to accept her with Atif. But Urooj refused stating she doesn't want to burden him plus her in-laws will never agree.

I sigh in exasperation as Riad concluded everything that Urooj had narrated.

'Now, what?'

Riad places his palm on my shoulder and looks at me 'We will think of this later in the night, Abhi you rest' he assures me. I nod my head, I want to do something right now and bring happiness back in Adnan and Urooj's lives. But right now, I am really tried.
