Marriage was something Lola and George talked about whenever they were on the telephone, or whenever they were free. They hadn't made exact plans yet though, everything was still up in the air. Lola was okay with the uncertainty, at least, for now.

Besides this, her life was normal. She was working more than usual, but not on her work. Instead, Lola was spending most of her time helping Addy. Addy was getting married in March of 1965. The news of the engagement had seemingly come out of nowhere. Lola had been slowly eating her breakfast which consisted of coffee and toast, when Addy barged in the flat they shared.

"I'm getting married!"

And, that was that.

Lola hadn't even known who she was engaged to until that moment. She hadn't even known she was dating someone. Though, Addy was always dating someone, so that part wasn't that surprising.

The man Addy was getting married to was ten years older than her and owned a gallery in London. Addy insisted on going ring shopping that weekend, and Lola obliged.

Lola could tell Addy was stressed, so she made the journey fun by telling jokes. She took her out for breakfast and bought her a new scarf. She also took the time to buy George a tea set and a book about being born.

While went inside the first jewelry store, Lola took the time to dial George. Ringo picked up. Lola chatted with him for a moment, asking him how he was, before asking for George.

"'Ello."

"I'm in London."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"I knew you couldn't resist not seeing me for a weekend," George laughed. Lola rolled her eyes. It was partially true, she had called him because she missed his voice. "When are you swinging by the flat?"

"Tonight."

"Oooo."

"Shut up," she said. "That's when I'm free. Did I tell you Addy is getting married? I've been so busy lately helping her. We're buying a ring right now."

"Hmm, I always knew you two were too close."

"I--"

"I know what you meant."

"We did sleep together once," Lola said, then she hung up the telephone. It wasn't actually true, but George would probably believe it. He'd have that thought with him the whole day.

Before Lola walked inside the store, Addy existed and shook her head. Without a word, Lola lead the way towards the tube. When they got to the second store, Addy was the first in the door.

She looked around the displays, and peered her head over the glass. Lola looked around too, but none of the rings stuck out to her. They all seemed like exact copies of each other.

Addy mumbled something under her breath. Then, she turned towards Lola. "Lola?"

"Yes?"

Addy pointed to a ring in front of her. "What do you think about this one?"

"Ah, that ring is--" the salesman pipped up.

"Classic," Lola interjected.

The salesman nodded along. "It is quite classic for a classic lady! Would you like to try it on?"

"Lola?" Addy asked.

"It's classic but in a boring way," she replied. That having been said, Addy shook her head at the salesman and exited out of the store. Lola followed, and this time they got a cab.
