Lola designed clothes. Since she was five and could write her name, Lola began designing. She drew design upon design, none of them coming close to the image she made up in her head. Of course, since she was only five, so she could pretend. Her father was supportive in her love for clothes, and designing. He bought her clothes, and though he didn't know much about fashion, he introduced her to people that did.

Nancy's aunt, a renowned Paris designer, was her first mentor. She encouraged Lola since she was little, and took her along with her niece to fashion shows. One of Lola's fondest memories were being behind the scenes, and feeling electric at sight of so many lights and people coming in and out.

Nancy was quieter growing up. She was still charming. She was still beautiful, but didn't seem to enjoy the attention as much. She didn't like fashion as much as Lola did. But that was the biggest thing they had in common. So, when Lola decided to move out of her father's house, and embark on a journey to launch her own clothing line, Nancy followed her steps.

Lola was different from Nancy when it came to designing, anything could inspire her. She only needed an idea before starting to experiment with things she hadn't before. Lola was electric, feeling as though she were high whenever she got any ideas. Nancy was more cautious, slower. She took less risks, and turned bitter at Lola's success.

That's how the strain in their relationship began. More and more, they rubbed each other the wrong way. Now, Lola felt as though their roles had changed. She was a little more cautious when it came to a certain things in life, one of those things included not getting involved with married men.

"Did you have fun last night?" Lola was having a cup of tea when Addy arrived after leaving home last night. It was ten in the morning, and she had only just arrived. That was something else she was cautious about: Addy. Lola saw Addy as a younger sister, as someone she sought out to protect. She couldn't say Nancy felt the same way.

"Oh, it was so much fun," Addy clapped her hands. She dropped her clutch on the kitchen bar, and sat opposite of Lola. She reached out to touch her forehead. "You're a little hot. Are you feeling better?"

I'm having a cup of tea, Lola wanted to say, of course I'm hot. "Uh?" She asked.

"Nancy said you weren't feeling well," she replied. Of course, Nancy had needed a lie to give to the girls, a lie to explain why she hadn't been invited. She really was in the outs now, more so than she had initially thought.

"Oh right, I'm feeling much better thanks for asking," Lola replied. She wanted details, she wanted to know why Addy had gotten in so late. She wanted to know how many pills she had popped to keep her up for twenty-four hours straight. Addy offered no details. Lola sipped her tea, hoping not to sound desperate. "What'd you do?"

"Oh, Lola, the boys are divine," Addy said. Lola crinkled at the word divine being used in casual conversation. Yes, she was French, but she wasn't pretentious. Lola knew what boys, Addy was talking about.

Addy went on to talk about how Nancy had invited her out for the night. Along with two of the other girls, Addy hung out with the Beatles. They popped pills, John got drunk first, Nancy followed. They disappeared into another room after that. Paul snogged another one of the girls, and George flirted with someone Addy had never seen before.

"She's a photographer, I think," the girl said. "She was taking pictures of George. They were together the whole night, talking and flirting. He said they were friends, but I'm sure there was something else going on at one point."

"And Ringo?" Lola asked.

"He fell asleep," Addy replied. Lola let Addy go on. She listened, sipped her tea, and then excused herself to go to the salon. Addy walked towards her room at the opposite side of Lola's, and fell asleep.
