Chapter 7

CHAPTER 7

Prim's P.O.V

Everyone screams as I whisper laugh to myself. "One down, a whole lot more to go." I whispered so nobody else could hear.

Everyone was gathering around the stage, looking at the Mayor in disbelief.

A man turned around and saw me smiling. "How can you smile at a time like this? Are you some sort of freak?" He shouted, but nobody else noticed over the other screams and shouts.

I walked closer to him, still smiling. I knew I shouldn't be enjoying this, but it felt amazing. All the power I had.

"You’re not very nice Mister." I told the random man. "So I am going to kill you now." He suddenly looked scared.

"Your c-crazy." He stuttered.

"And your stupid for calling me a freak." Before he could run or say anything else, I grabbed my throat lightly, causing the man to choke and fall to the ground.

I smiled evilly. "I hope you burn in hell." I whispered in his ear.

I lift my hand to my head, making a gun with my fingers. "Bang." I whispered. And the man fell to his side. Blood dripping from the hole in his head which looked like a bullet had gone through it.

I laughed and began to walk to the woods. I stopped and looked back when I reached them. Nana and Julie had already left and people were beginning to gather around the other dead man.

When I saw Alex amongst the crowd he looked horrified. I let out an evil laugh and his head shot up, his green eyes meeting my now red ones.

I stared him down as his eyes stayed transfixed to mine. His feet began to move, his body under my spell.

Once he had almost reached me I turned and skipped into the woods. He followed and caught up to me, grabbing my hand.

"What are you doing?" He asked once he had snapped out of his trance.

"My job." I said, meeting his eyes once more as I turned around. He gasped.

"Your eyes . . . there . . ." He trailed off, backing away slightly.

"Red? I kinda figured. Do I scare you Alex?" I say, tilting my head slightly to the side as an evil smile spreads across my face.

Alex's head tilts to the side quickly following my actions, but his head touches his shoulder and he groans in pain.

"Answer my question, do I scare you?" I shout at him.

"Only a bit when your acting like this." He breathes out.

I laugh. "Good to hear it." I say.

"Please, you’re hurting me." He says with clenched teeth.

I sigh. "Fine. But I did warn you Alex, I will kill you. Just not this moment, when the time is right." I let his head snap back to its straight position. He groans again from the fast movement.

I suddenly feel the darkness beginning to fade away. I scream out in pain as I drop to my hands and knees, digging my fingers into the ground.

I continue to scream until the darkness finally disappears and my head clears. I fall onto my side, breathing hard.

"Prim!" I hear Alex shout. I feel his arms wrap around me as my head rests on his chest. As my breathing returns to normal I begin to sob.

I had killed two innocent people and Alex wasn't far off.

"Shh." He says, smoothing my hair. He didn't say everything was going to be okay because we both knew that wasn't true.

Once my tears stopped I pulled back from Alex's chest and looked up into his eyes.
