Like a kid in a Candy Store

The mall was huge. I Live in a big city and don’t think I have been to such a large mall. Nick won’t let me know where exactly we are for fear someone could track us down. I just know that I am in heaven right now.

The first thing we bought was a cute hat for me to use as a disguise to hide my wild hair. Wouldn’t want someone from back home spotting me. We also bought me a new cell phone since I wasn’t able to grab mine before I was ripped away from my home.

I was surprised when Nick just let me roam on my own while he went and picked up some other supplies. I had his number programed into speed dial so if something happened all I had to do was push one number.

I made my way through the various stores piecing together an entirely new wardrobe right down to the lingerie. I walked pass one store then took a second glance at the boots in the window. They aren’t practical for where we are staying at the moment but I really want them. Knee high black boots with a stiletto heel… Nick did say I have no limit. I smiled as I walked into the store.

Lucky me they only had one pair left and they were in my size. I added the shoe bag to my already huge pile of bags. I think I have enough when it comes to shoes and clothes now I need to replenish my beauty stash. I headed straight towards Victoria’s Secret.

I love the smell of their perfumes and lotions. I grabbed various scents of the lotions and body sprays then made me way to the back where they kept their sleepwear. It wouldn’t hurt to just getting one of these skimpy nighties…never know who I could run into or what could happen. I smiled at the thought of surprising Nick with one of these.

I paid for my items with the new card I was given then headed towards the side of the mall we had come in. After I excited the door I quickly found the car and deposited my bags into the trunk. I started to head back into the mall when someone grabbed my arm and whipped me around.

I started to scream but he quickly put a hand over my mouth and pushing me up against the car. My eyes went wide to see that the man who now held me captive was Derek. How did he find me?

I put my hand in my pocket and pressed what I hoped was the number one on my phone.

“I will take my hand off your mouth if you promise not to scream,” I nodded and he removed his hand.

“What are you doing Derek…let go of me,” I growled hoping Nick had picked up the phone and could hear me talking.

“You have to come back home with me. Your parents are freaking out.”  He loosened his grip on my arm and his eyes almost looked sad.

“Why should I trust you?” I spat at him and tried to remove my arm from his grasp.

I managed to break free, kicking him in the groin and took off running across the lot. I made it inside the building and tried to hide amongst the crowd. When I looked back I didn’t see him anywhere so I pulled out my phone and called Nick again.

“Where are you?” He asked frantically.

“I made it back into the mall… Derek is after me… he found us,” I panted in between trying to catch my breath.

“Find somewhere to hide and stay there I will come find you.” I looked up to see a sign for the women’s bathroom so I ran into a vacant stall locked the door and climbed onto the toilet so no one could see my feet.

“I’m in the bathroom across from the coffee shop,” I whispered into the phone.

“Don’t move I will be there soon.”

Tears were falling down my face now and my body was beginning to shake. I closed my eyes and tried to imagine myself somewhere safe to try and help slow my breathing. I have to calm down before I completely freak out.

I heard the bathroom door open… I held my breath and tried to remain as still as possible.

“I know you are in here Cade,” It was Derek’s voice.

“You know how much I hate hide and seek… You will pay for that kick,” He growled. I could hear him opening the stall doors. Nick please hurry up. I could hear the stall door next to me open.
