Chapter Seventeen: To The Rescue

Montparnasse beat Grantaire again. Blood came out of his mouth.

“Stop it!” Enjolras pushed Montparnasse to the ground. “I shouldn’t have trusted you!”

“It’s useless if you just put me down here.”

“It does not mean that I can’t do this!” Enjolras choked him hard.

“Ba-bet!!”

A tall man came in the room. He used a thick stick to hit Enjolras’ back. Babet tried to hit Enjolras once again but he stood up and took out his gun. He hit Babet, bringing him to the ground lifeless. He stepped on Montparnasse’s neck.

“Stop it you bastard!” Montparnasse punched Enjolras’s leg, stood up and put him down.

“Is that all that you can do?” Enjolras smirked and pulled out his gun. He pulled the trigger but he realized that he had no gunpowder left and he left the ammunitions with Marius.

“Sad life Enjolras. You’re out of ammunition.” Montparnasse stepped on Enjolras harder.

“But he is not out of friends!” Marius and Gavroche appear from behind and shot Montparnasse. Montparnasse fell.

“I’m not the only one left Enjolras! There is still a man who’s alive.” Montparnasse said his last words.

“Great! Let’s look for him.” Enjolras told Marius. “Gavroche, you stay here with Grantaire.”

“Okay Enjolras.” Gavroche took a wet cloth and cleaned Grantaire’s wounds.

Enjolras and Marius went deep inside the headquarters. There, they found a bulky man talking to a familiar girl.

“Eponine!” Enjolras came running to her.

“En-“ Eponine was cut off by the bulky man.

“Brujon.” Marius stated.

Enjolras went closer to Marius. “Hand me the ammunition.”

Marius gave him a small pack of ammunition sneakily. Enjolras faced back and filled his gun with the gunpowder. When he was finished…

BANG!

He shot the gun and killed Brujon. He dropped it and went to Eponine.

“Ponine! We thought that you were dead.” Marius was almost in tears

“I died. For only five minutes I guess. It’s your fault that you went away right away.”

Enjolras hugged her. “I missed you!!!”

He pressed his lips against hers. Eponine can’t resist so she kissed back.

“Gosh. DO that later. We still have a friend to save.”

Enjolras remembered Grantaire. He and Marius went back to the entrance.
